| settleing dominace? I got a little silky terrier in 2/9 and i have two yorkies; 1 female that is 3yrs old and a male that is 7 months. my silky is a 5 month old male. the silky is much smaller than the boy yorkie and they dont stop play fighting and they sometimes tag team on my female. Before i got the silky, the two yorkies always played together but now my female is left out and she looks like she feels bad.Im also feeling bad because i think i messed up the pack because two is company but three is a crowd. also my male yorkie is really possesive with everyones toys, if one of them has a toy he takes it and doesnt play with it . just takes away whatever new toy they have.im very fustrated with the boys and i think its my own resentment because i really wanted girls and the male yorkie that was a gift for my birthday in september . i wanted a female but the breeder was saying that it would cause fights b/c 2 girls dont get along, but i think the breeder was BS me. and then i got the silky from (gulp) a pet shop, he was being moved from several pet shops and and apparently nobody wanted him. I made the decision because he had such a personality and i felt bad, but now i kinda feel worse. I felt the same way about the male yorkie and everything he does irritates me. its like i have post purchase depression . any advice would be great.my husband loves them all but he is barely with them, i have them all day.

| I'm not sure the breeder was bs'ing about the girls. I have a couple of girls that don't get along. Maybe some of the other members might have suggestions. Don't worry thigns will work out.

| Yes - sometimes two's company and three are a crowd. And, anytime a new pet enters the house, the dynamics of all the other pets seems to change. I know from experience that two females can get along very well. Sounds like your one Yorkie and the new little pup are both just puppies. This may be why they enjoy one another so much --and leave the other dog out. I think if you want to keep your three dogs - you'll just have to let them work it out. There shouldn't be any reason as they age that they won't get along. You shouldn't resent any of your puppies because of their sex...and you shouldn't resent them because they choose to play with one more than the other. They are probably just "doing their own thing" and it should all work out in time. If you feel your little female is being neglected - this is the one you should spend your time with. Personally - I think three little dogs is a handful - and would expect some of the same problems you are describing. Good luck! Carol Jean |

| I have three, 2 females 1 male yorkie. They all have such different personalities. Maddie is real laid back and Rudy and Polly play all day. Rudy sound like your male yorkie alway taking toys away from the other two. Polly will be a year this month and is starting to not let Rudy be the toy hound. It takes time when you bring in a new furbaby, he has to find his place in the pack. I almost forgot about Lucky she is my 16 year chow-mix, she loves the yorkies, I think they keep her young.
