| Play Groups - What Do You Think? I would like to get Luci into a play group with other small dogs. She seems to be a bit timid around other dogs and I would like to break her of that. I have checked out one place in my area. They would do a 6 hour evaluation with her...see how she is without me, see how she is with the staff, see how she is with other dogs, etc. Then I would like to drop her off once (maybe twice) a week for an hour or two to play. Has anyone done this? I'm a little afraid of leaving her for 6 hours (I just don't want her to be scared and think I'm abandoning her), but I understand they need to evaluate her behavior. I really want her to socialize and be comfortable around other dogs her size. Any advice? Thanks!

| I think the socialization of the fur babies is a great thing. Keep us posted on how it all goes with Luci. Hope she enjoys it.

| I think it is a wonderful idea also. I wonder why they need 6 hours to evaluate her. I'm sure they do - but it seems like a long first visit. Carol Jean |

| I think it's a great idea, but six hours is a little long first visit if you ask me. Please keep us posted, I'm sure she will have fun.

| I thought 6 hours was a lot for the first time. He said that's what they suggest, but it doesn't have to be that long. I understand it needing to be more than an hour or so...just to give her time to adjust. When I set up the eval I will probably make it for less time (or call after 2 or 3 hours to see how she's doing). This is at a doggie day care facility, so if it works out, it will be nice to know I will have a place to leave her if I have to be gone for long periods and don't have anyone to watch her. But initially my intention is to bring her once a week for maybe 2 hours just to play. Hopefully she'll meet some new friends.
