| Welcome I've noticed that this week in perticular (sp), there has been alot of new yorkie owners joining the site. I thought that maybe it would be nice and fun for us to get together to Welcome them and post our "best advice". Something that may be common sense to us now, but was not when we first got our new babies! Give us your top three "best advice I could give" and if there is more then three then add them too!! Thanks YT'ers WELCOME TO YORKIE TALK to all those new mommies and daddies!!! My best advice: 1. Bring your pup to the vet to just visit. That way, they will not be scared expecting a shot or a bath everytime they go. I would go and she would just play with the techs for a little bit. They would give her a special treat (that I supplied) and after 2 visits she LOVED going to the vet! It is a free and easy way to get your baby to like the vet's office! 2. Rotate your pups toys. That way you can keep them new and exciting to them while saving money for you! 3. Make sure you baby-proof your home. My Gracie gets into more things then my daughter does!!!

| I also have the X pens as they are great to use. I buy different toys often so they do not get bored with the old ones. Find new and interesting ways to do different things with them as they love new adventures. Make sure they are not left alone to get into something that can hurt them. Take them in the beginning on short car rides to get them use to it so that they do not get nervous or sick while traveling. Always always always keep them up on their shots. Brush your fur babies teeth with a baby tooth brush and pet toothpaste, start this while they are small to get them use to it. Enough from me I will let someone else jump in...As everyone has ideas. |

| Welcome to YT!!!! I would start to brush their hair. When you start young, it's really easy when they have their adult coat. Princess loves to have her hair brushed. Their teeth are super important too. At first they won't like it, but it is something that has to be done. Brushing their teeth will keep them healthy. Find a good Groomer! If you want a good hair cut, bring in a picture. There is NO reason a furbaby should have to stay at the Groomers for hours. If they want to keep them for over two hours, find a new one. Most places keep them in crates, just waiting to be groomed. Tell them you want your furbaby to be groomed, and to call you right before they are done. This way you can be there for them and they don't have to sit in a crate and wait. Again Welcome to YT!!! We are your new On-line Family.
