| Confessions of a first time yorkie owner... Ok, i know for the most part, lots of members here have had lots of experience with yorkies, and dogs in general... i fall into the "other" group- never owned my own dog, didnt have one growing up, nothing. Sirius is my first furchild and im sort of learning everything as i go along... that said, i have a confession to make- i've bought sirius a total of four harnesses. not because of function, but because they never fit him right! FE had suggested i get a cat one, since sirius is about the size of a hamster so i did, and it fit pretty well...considering i have been putting them on WRONG for the past 2 months!!!!!!! thank god for tinkerbellscloset.com and Shana, because they have a picture of a dog wearing a harness and suddenly it dawned on me ive been putting it on wrong this whole time. [ty shana!!!!] i was putting in on like a saddle, not around his neck because the whole point was so that nothing would touch his neck! i feel so dumb, but whatever, learn something new everyday. :] so i figure i cant be the only one to make a yorkie faux pas...would anyone like to make any confessions of supidity? or am i alone on this?

| You are so NOT alone! Simon was my first pet too, I had never had a dog before him! I learned a lot of things from trial and error And the harnesses.......well most of them confuse the heck out me, still do! So mix not knowing what I'm doing with a hyper dog and it's a miracle I can ever get it on |

| You are not alone...my mistake was putting a tiny jaw clip in Oscar's top knot. In doing that, I also grabbed the skin. It caused a sore and hair loss in that area. When the hair grew back in, it was no longer silver but red! So, be careful of what kind of apparatus you use on the baby's topknot! Oscar now just keeps his clipped short enough so it does not fall into his eyes.

| That's pretty funny Jackie. It took guts to admit it!!! I'm sure Sirius didn't mind. He got out of working for awhile....

| You're not alone, yea I have had other furbabies, but never a Yorkie. I had no idea how much different care they needed. I read everything I could for over a year before I found her. But I always learn something new here on YT.

| Jackie - the harnesses to me can be a pain in the rear to figure out at times, LOL. I've done the same exact thing many many times, true confession there. Another confession would be placing top knot bows in too tight and giving the fur kids face lifts.

| Jackie, you are definitely not alone. I learn something new from Vivi and also hear on YT everyday and I did grow up with dogs and have always had one. Harnesses can be confusing...there are so many different ones!!!!

| OK, am I the only one who has put the potty pads down wrong side up? The wrong side is quite waterproof and the pee just runs right off them.

| So funny about the pee pads being upside down.... I have also put the top knot in and gave mine a face lift...my hubby says hey look at them, they look like their faces are so tight it hurts....hehehehe I think we all do silly things but at least we do learn from them.. |
