| Grooming Question I want to grow Zoe's hair out. Do I just let it grow and grow, or do I get her groomed? The problem I'm running across is that whenever she poops, it gets caught in her hair. Do I get her hair cut around her bum? Thanks so much

| I always trim around the anus. If the hair on the sides & rump are long enough, you can wrap them. |

| Yes, just let her grow. Make sure you keep her ears tipped though. You can take the clippers and shave right over her anus (hate that word but couldn't word it any other way! lol). You also shave right where she pees b/c they do grow little tassles there like little boys amazingly enough! I hope that helps. If you get confused or are unsure, just take her to a groomer. It's never a bad idea to take them every 6 weeks anyway. Make sure you have a very good conditioner and you are brushing her DAILY! Once she's matted, there's no going back and dematting is VERY painful and very expensive. Good luck!

| I am growing Gracie's hair back out too! I still have her face and privates groomed. The poop stuck on the butt was a big problem for us too! I cut "back there" often. I feel like an idiot sometimes, I'm always yelling "Gracie, come see momma so I can check your butt"!!! I'd rather be anal (no pun intended! ) about it then have to pull poop out of her hair constantly!

| Yes if your letting her hair grow you should still cut around those two areas and the ears and feet. I use the clippers, then when you get down to a bit of hair I use the sizzers. They have a little bit of a rise around their little butt so have to make sure you don't cut it. Also make sure you find and hold the end of their litter pee pee in your fingers so you don't cut it. |
