My 11 year old rescued Yorkie Charly is loosing all of hi hair on his back any suggestions

Have you been to the vet? Anything going on with the skin?

Yes I have and he suggested a very expensive lab and skin test
I was hoping someone had any suggestions here

I think I would go ahead and get the tests done and figure out what is going on. There are so many things that could be the issue.
