| Stumped about behavior Not sure what's going on with Abby. She has a bit of separation anxiety and when I leave the house I have to keep her in the kitchen. She has a bed, food and water. She doesn't eat while I'm gone. The past 2 days, I came home and she had her food / water bowl half way off the mat with water all over the floor and some food strewn around the floor. I have a couple of her little blankets in her bed which she doesn't usually bother with. Both days they were all balled up. Today, she even had one of her pee pads balled up. I'm at a lose as to what's going on with her. This is the only strange behavior she is exhibiting. She has never done this before. Any one else experience this?

She's such a little sweetie, I hope this is nothing. Have you thought of setting up a "nanny cam" in that area in order to discover if she's in distress when she is acting out? When she had the x-rays a couple of weeks ago, did the vet do a full series of x-rays, or was it just one? On the 15th, she was going to take Reglan daily for a couple of weeks. WebMD has an article on Reglan in humans, saying it works by "blocking [dopamine]." PetMD has an article that outlines side effects that include, "hyperactivity," "changes in behavior" and "abdominal pain." Is she scheduled to visit the vet again when the Reglan runs out? I'm so sorry the two of you are dealing with this. Hug her for me. --KatysMom P.S. I see that ladyjane had asked some follow on question on the earlier thread. You might look at her post. | Oh sorry Abby seems to be having issues and hope you get it all figured out. Winston only shows this type of behavior when stressed out during thunderstorms, but now that his hearing is bad even that doesn't stress him out unless he "sees" the lightning. If the Reglan is new to her and it seems to be, I would have to question that. Hugs to you both!

| New behaviors like that definitely can be something to pay attention to. How bad is her seperation anxiety? If it’s getting worse she may need an anxiety medicine for a little while. Have you changed anything or has her routine changed at all? She might be balling up the blankets because she can’t get comfortable.

Abby is taking the Reglan. She has, I think, 4 doses left. Vet wants me to check in before renewing. She did have 2 x-rays. Everything looked normal. Will probably scope her if she starts to regurgitate again. I had to leave again this evening for an hour and a half meeting. She didn't ball up her pee pad or blankets. Just for this one time, I took up her bowl. Tomorrow, I have something going on again so I may put less food in her bowl as well as water and see how she does. It's just so bizarre! There is no other behavior changes. She has been keeping me on my toes, that's for sure.

The only manifestation of her anxiety when I'm gone is she will pee. I always take her out to potty before I leave and I can be gone for as little as 1/2 hour and she'll pee. She has always done that. That's why I keep her in the kitchen when I'm gone. She was checked for a bladder infection. None. So....I'll have to see how she does tomorrow.
