Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Moving and depression We've just moved, our second in two years, mainly because at 72, I need to be nearer the town. Our gregarious tomboy female Crystal has taken it all in her stride, but Holly, 5lbs and tiny for 3 years has done nothing but take to her basket and won't eat or drink! We are tempting her with fresh chicken and keep talking and cuddling her but she seems so sad. I thought of checking her out with the Vet maybe? She's very strict about her day and I always have my afternoon snooze with her (we are both retired) but for the past month or so I have been really distressed by what became a real trauma in the house relocation and she has stopped barking or demanding me to be with her the last few days. Also she has a very loud demanding bark, which has completely ceased. Tonight we are in the new place with boxes and chaos everywhere, both giving her lots of love, its so sad to behold? | Are you trying to keep up with her routine? Moving can be very stressful for some dogs. I had the great chance to be able to bring Callie to the new house many times before we moved and she had no issues except she wasn't getting as much human time because we were unpacking and doing so much so she would act a bit sad until she got showered with attention. If you want to can have the vet check to her out and you might need something for anxiety for a week or two until she gets used to everything.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you, the next morning she was fine, bouncing around and eating. Now she has diarrhea and has a sore bottom, which has been bleeding a little. We have of course bathed and soothed that. Today again she has been off her food. It seems that if there are workmen/contractors around the disturbance makes her worse and I share that feeling with her. Its always a wretched time, but this one is definitely the most stressful I've ever known. I'm taking her to the vet for a check up and see if they can prescribe some downers? |

| Hi, I just wanted to write and ask how Holly is doing now in the new house. Has it helped her any that your other dog is doing well in this situation? I just thought maybe she could get feeling a bit better because she sees how her friend is re-acting so well to all of this. Did you take her to the vet and what did the vet say? I hope things are going better now for Holly. Let us know how things are going when you get the chance of you would.

| (Because of work) In the last two years we have relocated cross country three times. I am also signing a new lease in another county next month. Both of my babies have adapted well and actually enjoy all of the moving around, I guess. Maybe they miss their old home?
