| Update on Slight Limp I took Gabe this morning to the vet to have his right hind leg checked since he has been limping on it briefly after getting up from resting. The Dr. could find only the least sign of luxating patella, a 1 at the most. He really worked over all of his legs and hips and could only conclude that maybe it was soft tissue damage from his jump off the bed Saturday night. He presecribed 1/4 baby aspirin twice a day for the next two days and no running, jumping, etc. for the next week. He also agreed that it would be beneficial to put both dogs on Cosequin DS. It is to be taken 1/2 tablet once a day and then eventually 1/4 tablet daily or 1/2 tablet every other day. When I got home and saw the size-they are like horse pills!!!!!!!! My dogs take pills well, but they have all been small so far. This should be a real challenge - any suggestions are welcome. The bad news to come from the office visit is that Gabe has limited vision in his left eye. This is something that my husband and I have suspected from almost the beginning. We noticed that he wasn't tracking certain things well and when he was at the vet during his early visits, (a different one than saw him today), I expressed concern and had it checked. That vet found nothing unusual. Today's Dr. suspects that it may be something related to the retina but would have to dilate the eye to be able to tell more. I will be making an appt. to take him to an ophthalmologist for further evalution. He makes out fine in everything he does but I would like to know the nature of the problem and if it is stable or if it may get worse. Has anyone had a similar experience? ________________________________________ |

| Oh my! I wasn't expecting that. Atleast it didn't come as a shock to you. Glad he didn't have a higher level of LP! That is great news |
