| Adoption Process - Very Fustrated As most of you know I am trying to adopt another Yorkie named Bella from a local Rescue Group. I am getting really frustrated as the last thing I heard from them was last Saturday stating she would possibly be spayed this Tuesday or this coming weekend. I said great please keep me updated on next steps. Well I have heard nothing since. I was told that I was told that she had a lot of interest but I was the one they wanted. I sent an email to the group on Tuesday asking if she was spayed and how she was doing. Also asking about when I would be able to officially adopt her. I sent a follow-up email late last night since it has been over 24 hours with no response. Still nothing. I even tried calling the number on their Facebook Page but there was no answer. I chose not to leave a message. I am trying not to be a pest but I need to make sure my home is in order before she comes home like getting her supplies since I don't have a harness that fits her and some other items. Additionally, I would like to take a couple days off work to help assimilate her to my apartment so I need to know what is going on. I am really frustrated with the lack of communication. They are having an event on Sunday that I am planning on attending and hopefully I can finally talk to someone in person about the issue. The rescue group has great reviews online so I don't know if it is just me or what is going on. At this point I am still applying for other dogs since I can't guarantee what will happen. I really want Bella as she is adorable and got on well with Thumper but I am starting to not like this rescue group. Additionally, after talking to a Vet Tech she alleviated a lot of my concerns about her walking issues. I am not a patient person so I am trying not to send another email or try the telephone number again because I don't want them to think I am pestering them. BUT I really want to know what the next steps are in the adoption process. The other yorkie I was thinking of adopting the owner decided not to surrender him. That rescue group is further away so I don't have a lot of time to make the trip out there and by that time I can get out there the ones I have been interested in are already adopted.

| Stay on 'em! Pester relentlessly and you cannot let up for a second, too many e-mails and phone calls aren't enough. Keep calling, visit if you can...and then tell them you'll do what needs to be done, you don't want to wait. CALL, CALL, CALL, E, E, E! I'm not kidding, you have to pursue in this instance!!! Trust me, no one will think you're a nuisance! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | As someone who volunteers every week at a large shelter, I can def tell you there are just never enough staff to deal with the sheer amount of inquiries we get every single day. It's staggering how tough it can be for them to get back to people. Frustrating, I know.

I totally understand this issue. That is why even though I am frustrated I was trying not to be a pest. I finally heard back from the rescue group. I believe the issue isn't them but the foster mom. It seems she is hard to get a hold of. (I really am not a fan of her) I am supposed to pick Bella up on Wednesday evening from the foster mom. She wont be home until 9:30 pm so it will be a late night. I am hoping she doesn't cancel on me again because I specifically took off work the next two days to be with Bella.

| Thank you. So happy. I am just a worry wart that now I am trying to manage everything I need for her and make sure she gets a clean bill of health with no knee issues. That is my biggest concern because she is so small and yorkies are known to have them. Wont stop worrying until she is here.

| You don't want to be a pest but you are kind of doing them a favor. It really should not be taking that long considering what you have already been through so you may need to explore other options. If you want a definitive timeliness, the only route is either a local pound/city shelter or a breeder because these rescue organizations have a ton of stuff going on behind the scenes, political stuff, someone could be holdings things up because they want the dog or possibly holding out for a friend. |
