| Question for those who have bought or shipped to another state... Good Day all! This question is from my sister that is looking for a puppy. Here is some information she told me. She is interested in A parti yorkie 12 wks old is being sold for $450. Sister found out that the puppy would be flying from Georgia to her here in Texas. The flight cost was 218 but the seller is going to waive the shipping fee only thing my sister is paying is for the pup (450) The puppy is registered. Seller takes payment through western union , money gram or Walmart. No Paypal. My sister asked why not Paypal and answer was so the seller can have the money to pay for items that is coming with it. (Crate, blankets, dishes, papers and vet info.) Puppy is sent right away as soon as money is through. So suggestions or thoughts please....does this sound like a scam? Website also has this info of flying puppies as well. I can't answer this, because I never dealt with anything like this. Be nice don't answer if your just going to be rude. Thank you in advance |

| Insisting on using Western Union makes me nervous, I did this once, sent $900, never got the puppy or saw my money again. After that I did have puppies sent to me, from another seller, deposited the money directly into her account, I did get my puppies that time. Western Union even warned me it might be a scam, hope it works out for your sister |

| Yes.I agree It all sounds great until you get the western union part. See when I bought my Yorkie I found a someone who was here in texas, that took my payment over the phone she had the "square" that connect to her apple phone and manually took my payment. I think i need to just tell my sister that ....with the advancement we have with technology these days western union shouldn't be the only way and just back out. Thank you. |

| That definitely sounds like a scam. I had a puppy shipped once and we mailed a check to the person as a deposit and put money directly into their BofA checking account for the remainder. There are so many secure ways to make payments these days there's no reason that they should force her to use a method that isn't. I would not have a puppy shipped again and I wouldn't use a breeder that shipped puppies. I don't believe a responsible breeder would ship a puppy. I want to visit the home, meet the breeder & the parents before deciding if I will get a puppy from them. If they don't interview me as well I am skeptical. I hope she finds the perfect pup! |

| The cost of the puppy also sounds too low. I know in my area it would be at least $2500 for a parti. I understand some areas are less in price. But what stood out to me was how low she was charging for the puppy and that she would waive the shipping cost. So in essence she would only be making a profit of $232.00 way to low to be legitimate unless this is a rescue and not a breeder.

| I also agree that the price is way too low. Most well-bred Yorkies, Parti's, Biewers sell for $1500 to $3000. I don't really understand why she couldn't use PayPal to pay for other things though. PayPal is awesome in that you can link it up to your bank account. I think that's just a really bad excuse! And very much agree with Monroe that the best breeders will let you visit their home and meet the parent (whether mom or dad, because usually the other parent is from another breeder, otherwise, you risk getting a puppy that is inbred). During my initial search, I almost wanted to have a puppy shipped to me across the country. I wanted a Yorkie really really badly, and within a certain timeframe. But it just didn't feel right! Then I read many threads here on YT and learned about all the bad backyard breeders there are out there that breed sick puppies. Just go into the "Sick & Injured" board and you can search for plenty of unfortunately puppies who were not healthy because of poor breeding, some that die after a couple years. So take your time to find a reputable breeder. Then, ask them for other breeders they know as a reference. You can never be too careful these days!

| My blood boils when I see stories like this. Hopefully your sister did not go through with this otherwise she is out $450. The people who do scams like this should be taken outside and (fill in the blank because what I want to say is not fit for mixed company).
