|  Puppy not on heart worm meds I just adopted an 8 month old puppy. His family did not have him on heart worm medicine.He seems very healthy, just some dry skin. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow. Should I be worried?? |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator  |  I wouldn't necessarily worry, per se. But I would get the heartworm test and then get him on a monthly pill going forward.

| I agree, I wouldn't necessarily be worried, make sure your vet does the heart worm test BEFORE starting him on a heart worm prevention pill.
