| Look what Dooney found!!!! Yikes, A baby snake in our back yard. It was curled up in the cement area next to our house/patio. I would have never seen it. Love these terriers, so alert and will spot anything.

| OMG I would have freaked out. Late spring there was a baby snake slithering around in the yard, thank god Cody was preoccupied in stalking something at the other end of the yard and did not see chasing this thing trying to stomp on it with my slippers on yuck, damm those things are fast, it went under the deck which I have fenced off with chicken wire so Cody cannot get under the deck, that's a great hunting area lol. Thankfully I have not seen it since. I HATE snakes. Good job Dooney, if that was Cody I would need a video, he would be flinging that thing all over the yard and not sniffing like Dooney lol.

| He was barking at it like crazy and trying to bite it. I had to get him away from it because I was scared it was going to bite him. I got it into a ziplock bag and he was sniffing at it.

| Boy, are you brave - putting it in a Baggie. I am psycho about snakes. My backyard opens up on open space but I have a wall but not a really high one. I am always looking for snakes since I am so scared of them. The other day I was investigating why my plastic wire had fallen down from the wall and as I was coming back down the slope I saw a snake's skin. I froze and looked around and jumped down and ran in the house. I was sick all day thinking a snake was in my yard. My yard is full of bushes - a really heaven for a snake. My dogs have not found this beast and I pray that it slithered away after shedding it's skin.

| I agree you are brave, for the safety of my dog I would have stomped on it, but would never TRY to bag it lol. These yorkies are to much, I LOVE their instinct to hunt, but hate when they catch something lol, they are so proud of their catch only to have it taken away from them lol.

| I would have gotten away from that snake so fast! I'm sure Calleigh would have wanted to investigate it too. Have to watch for rattlesnakes in CA. I hope this one wasn't. I guess you could see a rattle if it was. Yikes!

| Holy moly!! how did you manage to get it into a bag?! wow!! Superwoman! The picture scared me enough. I would have grabbed my baby and dart back inside and watch from a window I'd also be scared the snake would bite the dog...

| I don't think it was a rattler. I got a stick and nudged it into a bag. I released him into the fields by my house.

| Dooney!! Oh my goodness, I would have fainted. Teddy found a baby venomous copperhead on one of our walks. When I saw what he was sniffing, I yanked the leash and sent him flying. Turned out the snake was dead, but my heart skipped a few beats. Yesterday when we were leaving the park after our walk, we saw a giant raccoon running across the parking lot. I'm so glad we didn't encounter him while we were walking.

| The Yorkie was bred for hunting rats and such. It's their nature. Are rattle snakes a problem in your area?
