What haircut for a silky yorkie? Hi, I have booked Bobbie in for a full groom next Thursday and deciding on his haircut. He has fine silky hair I fancy it getting cut short as it will be more manageable but not sure on what to ask for or how short to go as I want him to look right. I had a look at a puppy cut but is his hair to fine for it? Any advice/pics would be helpful. Last edited by Trevstan; 08-26-2016 at 03:42 AM.

Well the groomer came to my house today she does the work in the van (bathing, drying etc...) She asked how we wanted him cut we decided on 1 inch on the body and a puppy cut face and the legs blended in. Overall were happy with his cut and he was a good boy for the groomer apart from him showing his teeth a few times she said he does that to us sometimes too ... Still getting used to hair on top of his head as it was 4 inches long before it was cut. Was a bit wary with him having a silky coat but I think it makes him look younger, and he smells fantastic (that won't last long !) He's fast asleep atm must a took it outta him. From the photo in the first post he looks totally different. What do you guys think?

I think he looks adorable! I love Yorkies with short hair. I keep Penny's hair about an inch long on her body all the time. It is so much easier to brush and bathe her.

With a dog as beautiful as Bobbie, I don't think there is a wrong cut! I see what you mean as to him looking a bit more puppy-ish with shorter cut. I just think he's one great-looking boy--long, short or in between!
