Hello all. I took my dog Livie to the vet the day before yesterday to get her pre op-blood taken and examination for her dental surgery. She will have to have lots of teeth removed

Anyhow today I just noticed her neck is super dark red(the skin) which is around where they took the blood from. Is this normal? I know they took the blood from around that area because when they gave her back to me it was wiped with alcohol. I did not notice this before, only today. What do I do?? Also her blood results came back normal and good for surgery. I tried to take a good pic but it's hard to, with her hair.

Could be bruising? Especially if it's where the needle entered.

I would ask the vet about it

I would watch this area. If the redness also starts to involve pain, heat, and swelling...then it's tuning into an infection.

It's likely just bruising. Watch it closely but don't be too worried. They have very thin skin and vets draw from the jugular on such tiny dogs- it does sometimes cause terrible looking bruises.
