| come home tonight to see.... i usually crate bunjee if i'm leaving the house for less than 1 hr. i leave bunjee in the gated area of the kitchen when i'm gone for more than that. i got back from class tonight, checked the door to see if he's whining, which there wasn't until i jingled my keys, then i hear a bark. i open the door and 'lo what do i see...my little bunjee greeting me at the door. i think my little one's just figured out how clear a 24" gate. well, at least he didn't make a mess on the carpet, just a little puddle, on the "wrong side" of the pet gate. |

| LOL...now that he's figured that out, the baby gate won't work anymore! Maddie has been a little escape artist all along and never fails...if she's gated, she's outta there in no time...only place I can put her that she doesn't escape is the crate!

| Escaping .... this seems to be a common trait in Yorkies! 2 gates - 1 on top of the other - works for us when we're not home. Just the one gate is sufficient when we're home.

| well, i just caught him trying to escape again. i was really wondering if he was a jumper or a climber. well mystery solved... my baby's a climber. haha. i'm picking up a new baby gate this week... something with bars (not climb-able) and hopefully he's too big to squeeze through the bars. my little escape artist indeed! |

| Oh boy, Mom needs a new plan. Bailey is not a jumper at all. But my neighbors Yorkie, " Bianca" can almost clear a 4' fence is blows my mind!

| I've got a climber too. She scales the baby gate no problem. I can totally understand what you're talking about! I'd come home and find Bridget roaming the house and could have sworn I put her behind the gate in her "room". I finally just gave up and kept her in my bedroom until she had the potty training down. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | HAHA! Baby gates will not work anymore for your little one. I use to gate them off in the kitchen. Once, Chester jumped over the gate, piddled on the floor and then jumped back over before I got home. When I found the mess, I looked right at him and in return he looked at me as if to say, "WHAAAAT??!!??" How did I know it was him??? He was the only one that would jump over it. And who says dogs aren't smart.

| Well at least he greeted you at the door. If he's a climber and he wants out, he will make it out, they always do. They are so super smart. YORKIES, Gotta Love Them!!!

As rrosenberry said, it's amazing how high they can jump. Joey has recently been trying to get things off the kitchen counters. And, he CAN get his nose up there! I understood counter-surfing when I had Huskies, but a YORKIE countersurfing?!? Definitely not something I expected!

| i just ordered my new baby gate and ordered an "extra tall", 41" high, with bars as opposed to mesh or something climbable. and it has a walk thru gate so i don't need a pole vault to get over it myself. otherwise i will have to go with a double decker. i just hope he's too big to squeeze thru the bars! |

| got the new gate. the thing is TALL. or it just accentuates my short stature. one of the bars are too far apart so he can slip between the bars and step out. i did use the old gate in combination with the new gate. hopefully it'll keep him in where he's suppose to be! if bunjee can vault over that thing, i'm entering him in the olympics. |
