| ![]() Please help. Chloe bit me again. This happened before and there is no notice. Yes I touched his food on my bed, but he had his bone in his mouth. He was fine all day. Just freaked out. He attacked me and my fingers got between is teeth.. Blood all over again. He's a great loving dog. Monday he's going to the vet. I just can't think of why he attacked, this isn't a little nip. I made him go in his room which he did. He normally sleeps with me. I got up this morning he was still in his bed. He knew he did wrong. Went outside to tinkle and threw up twice. He's fine now I gave him dinner on the floor in dish dish not in the bed like yesterday. This could have been my face. Ouch..and yes I did get a tetnice shot. Thanks for your help.

| ![]() Have you had this pup since he was a baby? Has he done this in the past already? What did you do when he pulled this stunt before? I love my dogs, every single one of them, more than I love some humans I encounter daily. I would do anything for any of my precious babies....but I have NO tolerance for biting. I am the pack leader and I will NOT be subjected to being challenged or bitten. You must first know if this was as a result of pain the dog was experiencing because of something you were perhaps doing....I have had a couple of my dogs when is pain from an accident or injury, MOUTHED my hand, that is they have grabbed my hand but have NEVER clamped down on it...just grabbed it to let me know "Right there mommy, that hurts!!!!"... I will not tolerate a biting dog....that behavior must be corrected and the pup must know that will NOT happen ever again.....that would be the one time I would snatch a dog up, pin it to the ground, which is what pack leaders do, and make it absolutely clear they must NEVER do that again. If it ever happened again, I am sorry but as my momma used to say, "I will tear your butt up for that!" Absolutely will not be tolerated in this house, any dog that challenges my position as pack leader. Thank God none of mine have ever even THOUGHT about nipping/biting me...even when mommas have babies, I have one female that does not want my help at all, but there are things we have to do with those babies....she has NEVER tried to bite me....she just forcefully pushes her head between my hand and her babies....she is a very attentive momma, and I respect her concern and I give her the space she demands, as quickly as I possibly can. But even then, I would NOT tolerate a biting dog. I had an aunt that had a dog that had an issue with food guarding....she was bitten 3 times by this dog, for doing nothing more than putting water down next to the dogs food bowl as the dog was eating. After going to the er and having her hands and arms stitched up on 3 different occasions, the hospital er reported the dog to the Animal Control and they came and picked the dog up and euthanize it as a vicious animal. A little overkill I thought, but I guess it could have been disastrous if the dog had gotten this tiny little, aged woman down and tore her to pieces, possibly killing her. I would suggest you take steps to correct this behavior....good luck with it....what a shame this animal bites the hand that feeds it. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 08-29-2015 at 03:32 PM. |

YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Did he bite when he was younger? If not, then I would think it is because of a health issue. I had a dog that I loved dearly. She was the kind of dog that followed me everywhere and wanted to be with me all the time. Then she got cancer. I did all I could to make her comfy. It got to the point where she didn't know who I was anymore and she did bite my teenage daughter (drew blood and left a scar). She attempted to bite my son and also myself. She no longer followed me around. She just wanted to lay in her open crate all day long. I would go sit in front of her crate and talk to her and tell her how much I loved her and she would growl at me. She no longer knew who I was or what she was doing. It broke my heart to see her like that. She started attacking other dogs with no warning that were walking by, she had always loved every dog she met. I hope your dog is okay. I am glad you are taking him to the vet. My girl was only 4 when I had to call the vet one day and tell them that she had absolutely no idea who we were anymore and it was too dangerous for me to keep her. I know she would have bit us again and she was attacking other dogs. Our other dog was acting up really badly and I was worried he wouldn't survive well without her, but he actually got better once she was gone. I think she was just so sick it was upsetting him. The vet felt that the cancer had gone to her brain and there was nothing that could be done for her. She was diagnosed with cancer at 18 months old. We had spent a few thousand dollars on her already and when they realized how bad it was, it was really too late to do much more than to try to make her comfy, which didn't last long. If he has bit before though then it might just be a behavior thing and behavior modification might help.

| ![]() Many many years ago my first yorkie Keyla used to attack me and bite . I took him in and yes he had pain from infected anal glands. Once he was cured he was a loving little boy. Maybe yours has a pain could be from the back or something. Good thing to get your baby checked out. Susan |
