| Duchess finally got spayed After having to cancel twice, I was finally able to get her spayed. I am happy to say she came through with flying colors. She got micro chipped and she had a dental which according to the vet, her teeth are in great shape and all she had to do was scrape a little tartar. My little bundle of energy was wide awake and fully alert only an hour after her spay. She wasn't groggy or anything and as you can imagine keeping her still is almost impossible. She has too much energy for her own good. When we got home, she actually wanted to play. I had to put her in her expen to keep her calm. I was a getting a little concerned because she didn't have a bowel movement until Sunday. Everything back to normal. I only gave her pain meds one time which I don't think she even needed. It is now Monday and she is doing great. She did have the laser done so hopefully her recovery time will go quickly as I am not sure how long much longer I have to keep her calm. The vet recommended 10 days but I don't think keeping her confined for that long is going to happened. If she is doing okay and not in any pain, do I have to keep her confined for the entire 10 days? Even surgery didn't slow her little butt down..... Last edited by yavenay; 06-22-2015 at 05:33 AM. |

| Glad her surgery went well! I did not keep mine confined for 10 days after a spay. I did watch and not let them jump and stuff. They bounced back quickly and it sounds like your girl did too!
