Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Bonnie's ALT and spay... All of Bonnie's blood work was perfect today! I'm so happy since I had to postpone her spay due to an elevated ALT level last time. She is getting spayed today, I'm just wIting to hear that all is well. She is also having 4 baby teeth removed and getting microchipped. It seems like so much for such a little girl. I'm nervous but praying all goes well and she is home tonight. |

| Hope everything goes well for you! I would think that there would be at least an overnight stay, but maybe not. The chipping is no worse than a shot. The dental work I don't know about but I am sure that is coming soon in our household as well. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | They just called to say that her surgery went well and she is recovering. I should be able to bring her home around 5 pm. They will be sending home pain meds and I have a soft cone I bought but I am also planning to try the onesie idea. The stitches are all internal but still she might lick the incision without a deterrent. |

| I think a onesie is a great idea to keep them comfortable and still cover the incision so they can't get at it. Glad to hear that Bonnie is doing good! Last edited by Russpilot; 06-10-2015 at 10:48 AM. Reason: Freakin' spelling mistakes |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Bonnie is home...She looks sooooo sad. I'm hoping she'll feel a little better in the morning. She's resting now. They gave her pain meds before she came home and said I can't give more until morning. Poor Dixie just wants to play with her. I have Bonnie in a exercise pen so Dixie can't bug her. All in all she had 4 baby teeth removed, her spay and her microchip. I'm glad I waited until she was bigger. |

| Happy to hear Bonnie's spay went well and she is home. You'll be amazed at how fast she will recover and will be zooming around the house lol.

| Spaying and micro chipping are so important. My first two females I could not bear to have them under go surgery, they were just babies. I never had them spayed, one at 14 y/o the other at 11 y/o died from Pyometra , their uterus erupted, puss went through their blood lines, one suffered for 9 days after a full hysterectomy at age 14 y/o, she just about died beore my eyes, something I would never want anyone to see their beloved baby go through, my 11 y/o went through the same thing 6 months later, she lived for 6 months after full hysterectomy. All my females after that were spayed. So you are not a mean mommy, you are a terrific mommy for spaying.

| Hope she gets better quickly My Misty was also spayed and micro chipped yesterday too, she was quiet last night but managed to eat and drink something. Today she's acting like nothing ever happened yesterday, it's so hard trying to keep her from running around and jumping. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Bonnie's not up to running and jumping yet. She seems to be having a fair amount of pain but I hope as the day progresses, she will feel better. She did eat a bit this morning and drank a little but I gave her some Nutrical as well since she didn't eat much and yesterday she didn't eat due to the surgery. I'm glad your baby is doing well. I have Bonnie in a onesie also. It's a great idea. |

I also put off getting my baby spayed so that I could have any baby teeth pulled that don't come out on their own. She is currently 6 months old and has two sets (so far) of double teeth so I am glad I cancelled the original appointment. I am also going to wait until she is 8 months old to have her spayed. I have already bought her onesie and tried it on her. It was the funniest thing ever. She ran around, spun around and was trying her darnest to get it to come off. She never did settle down until I took it off of her. Hopefully she won't act like that when I put it on her after I bring her home from being spayed.
