| My little stinker I opened our sliding glass door last night to put a piddle pad in the garbage. A minute later, I couldn't find Max. The little stinker was out on the deck in the dark. Thankfully our deck is lined with xpens because we would never find him in our yard at night. Normally Max is afraid of the dark, afraid of being left alone outside (not that I would let him). Not last night. He was so proud of himself. Teddy didn't tattle on him either. I think Teddy enjoyed being an only child for 30 seconds. Anyway, never say never when its comes to these little ones getting out the door unnoticed.

| I'm so glad he didn't get out in the yard. That is one of my fears, that they will get out front in the dark and run off. I have learned one thing about Yorkies, you can expect the unexpected.

| That always scares me. We have a small fenced in area off our deck, but I am always afraid something will grab Lexi while she's out there at night. I think she's afraid of the dark, just like me. An owl, coyote, raccoon, etc. I always go out with her and am on guard, but it sure is scary. Glad Max is safe and sound. |

| Just when you think you know them........ Generally, when I turn around and they are not right behind me, I know they are up to something.

| I have gates on both my front and back decks for just this reason. My last girl was 17 y/o and blind reason I had gates, didn't want her to fall down the 2 / 3 steps. Now I have crazy boy Cody, when someone comes to door he has to be the first one out, I have a storm door so I can see if the person closed the gate, ppl like FedX, UPS, friends know to close the gate. I have no idea what Cody would do if he got off the front deck. Last year a jerk new neighbor left the gate open, I never saw it and Cody ran off across the road, thank god it's the community road, although we have a 10 MPH they do 25 & 30. I only had Cody 3 weeks when this happened, I ran across the road, thank god he knew the command word STAY, that I discovered at that moment. From that day on I always make sure that front deck gate is closed before I open the storm door. I have never had Cody off leash only in the back yard, I don't know if he will come on a return call if he ever gets loose. Last summer was his first time as a free spirit in a yard, his focus was on investigating and hunting, I couldn't get him to focus on me so I just let him enjoy his new freedom. I have him 16 months now, yard is no longer something new, I will give Spring time to get reacquainted with the yard since he couldn't use it all winter, even now yard still has 2 feet of packed snow, still not able to let him use it, summer I will work on re-call with him. His safety is top priority.

| It's really scary how ninja like these little buggers are! Sometimes when it's TOO quiet, and I don't see one or both furbutts, I go looking for them to see what mischief they're up to. I tiptoe as quietly as possible to catch them in the act. I don't see them in one room, so I turn around to move to the next room and AH!!! There they are... right behind you. It's one of those moments where they make me feel stupid.... lol |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Come to my house-it is all dog. I have 2 gated entry ways. One is tall with a door that swings open and shut. Last year my friend came over, tripped over the bottom slat in the gate and broke her hip falling on the tile. The other one is not as tall but needed to keep the dogs out of the room with my birdies. Yes Yorkies can zoom through doors and be gone. My couches have dog blankets on them, chairs too. Yorkies are unpredictable and you may find a little accident when you leave them. God made them so cute that we just overlook the little stuff and love them like they love us! |

| Good thing you remembered to look for him! Teddy never tries to run out the door BUT that doesn't mean that I think that he would never try! Not only are they small, but they run like crazy and are hard to see even when they're right under your nose! Naughty boy! Maybe he wanted a slumber party under the stars |

YT 1000 Club Member | I thought maybe I had the only Yorkie that I am looking all over for him and he is standing directly behind me! It happens all the time at my house. Now, I just know to look there before going off to look for him and 9 out of 10 times he is right there. I worry about mine getting out the door, so I have worked with him since day 1 that he can not cross over the door thresh hold without permission first. He is pretty good about it. He got out the door the first week I had him but he didn't go halfway across the porch and I scooped him up. Last night my daughter and I were working on her science project on the front porch though and my husband was coming inside and I guess Teek was looking for me so he darted out. My husband told him to go back in the house and I didn't say a word because I didn't want Teek to hear me and come running over to me, or not realize I was ON the porch and then go running off it and into the street to look for me. Teek turned around as my husband told him to and went right back into the house. I told my husband he did a great job with that and I also told him why I didn't say anything to interfere with his orders. Teek has learned quickly though. Sometimes when I am taking just him outside and not the big dog too, he doesn't want to cross over and go outside, even though his is harnessed up and on a leash and I have to convince him that it is okay. I am glad he was safe and you realized right away where he was at.

| My daughter's dog, ERnie, did this to me a couple of weeks ago. I came in from work, they were all crazy to greet me. I set my purse down and squatted down to pet....where is Ernie????? NOT there, he had gone out the FRONT door as I came in.....I jerked open the door and he was just standing there looking at me. Scared me to death Rin and Tyson, they know better....they will not cross the threshold without permission. We're still working on ERnie's impulse control.....lol
