| Charlie's strange reaction to the new baby.... Hi guys!!! I had my baby last Tuesday. She's so sweet. yay. I'll have to share pics later. My question right now is about Charlies reaction to her... Charlie doesn't know how to react to her. He is very very curious, but has been acting a little strange. When I first brought her home and Charlie seen her, he started running around the house and kind of going nuts. He was panting really heavy and even drooling from his mouth. Kind of similar to the reaction he has to firecrackers. He lunged at my sister and barked at her (which he never does) when she went towards the baby who was in the bassinet the night we brought her home. Every time the cries, charlie reacts.. Sometimes he barks, some times he cries and he'll run around, but he is always curious about her. I know he wouldn't hurt her and I am not worried about that...He will sniff her very carefully then try to kiss her but in a sketchy way. Like just a tiny lick then kind of run the other way right afterwards. He went flying off the couch all clumsily once while i was holding her. I think he wanted to jump up and see her in my arms or something. I know he just doesn't quite understand but just curious if anyone knows what may be going on in his head about the baby. |

| Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl. I'm sure Charlie will love her given enough love, attention, and guidance. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Awww, I think the little feller is just feeling cautious and curious. I bet they'll be best buds in no time.

| Is this his first time interacting with a baby? I noticed with Magnus/Zoey, when they met my grand niece, they were curious and confused too. Being about the same size as Magnus, but she wasn't a furbutt... and she didn't "act" like a human. He didn't seem to know what to do with her. LOL |

| Congratulations on your new little baby girl. Can't wait to see pictures. I always wanted a daughter, but had all sons.

| Maybe you take one of your baby daughter's blankets and put on couch so Charlie can get used to her scent on his own, without any interaction...? Sounds like he needs a little time to adjust to all the new smells and sounds. Congratulations on your precious baby! |
