YT 500 Club Member | Kerosene heat With all the power outages everywhere my breeder is heating his kennel with kerosene heaters. He has my 5 week baby and lots more. Any thoughts if there are any adverse affects on these babies. Worried! |

| Using a kerosene heater in a closed, unventillated room can create a problem with carbon monoxide buildup, as the oxygen in the closed off room is consumed. We use kerosene heaters at the deer camp cabin, but always mindful to leave a couple of windows open about an inch, just enough to let some oxygen into the cabin. I can not imagine what in the world other options would be for your breeder with no power.....cant let her dogs freeze to death! With hurricanes down here, our issue of no power leaves us with sweltering hot temps at that time of year....so I have a generator that runs everything when our power goes off....that could be a safer option for your breeder. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think I'd be a little concerned too...it just sounds a little dangerous somehow.

| That seems like a lot. Who is your breeder?
