| Thin Hair on Puppy's Head My puppy is five months old. His hair is very light and thin on his head. I see many puppies at this age with mini topknots. Wondering if he will always have thin hair. |

Post some photos. If you need help, there are a couple of "sticky" posts at the top of the photo section with instructions. Feel free to ask for assistance.

| I have one yorkie that has thin hair on his head and thick on his body and he is older, I have on that has thick hair all over. I think it could be his genetics. |

| Definitely genetics. My boys are full brothers, different litters, but Max has twice as much hair as Teddy. Differences in coloring too. Max takes after his paternal grandmother, and Teddy takes after his mom's side.

| Thin hair on a 6 month old? I have the same question about thin hair? If the Dog " supposedly " has a pedigree of 16 champions then why is his hair so thin? This is my first yorkie so I don't know what " The Standard " should be for length at this age? |

| This is normal. It might also look thin because the hair there might be silver compared to the rest of the darker hair? My Chloe also had hair that seemed thin on her head when she was a puppy but that was only because the hair on the very top of her head was a little gray-ish compared to the rest of her head hair. She is 13 months now and her head hair is much thicker and blonder. Your pups hair will grow.

| The top of his head was soooo light he looked like he was going bald. He's almost a year now. He looks normal now. They grow into it. |
