| ![]() Heartland Puppies Cordell, Oklahoma - Heartland Puppies OK There isn't much info on their website. There is NO mention of a health guarantee. Bad news. They are USDA licensed. Bad news. That means they go thru a LOT of dogs. Signs of a puppy mill. They do more than one breed AND mixed breed. Another bad sign. The pics on their site of the dogs aren't even their own dogs. I reverse searched the yorkie and maltese pic and the same pic was used all over the world. 17 results - TinEye 4 results - TinEye I would stay away from this breeder.

| ![]() Thanx capt noonie, it amazes me that 17 years ago It wasn't so prevalent, I think it wasn't anyway. I've always lived in a small community, and was appalled at all the things I've seen happen to puppies, big and small, old and young. im so Internet shy now on buying a new baby because it scares me too much to Think I would just get attached and then lose one. I don't like my babies being in distress at all. My little Peanut was in the OSU Vet hospital for almost a month due to his problem. I didnt like being away from him because he was more calm when he could hear my voice. But they took excellent care of him. I was extremely thankful for them since my own vet should have caught it way before he did. Thank you again for your insight. It helps a lot. |

| ![]() Reputable breeders will not breed mixes also the picture of the yorkie pup at the top of the yorkies and morkies pages is not a healthy puppy and a Gorky pup shoukd never look like that. Also usda license is not good in my opinion it means they have a lot of dogs and normally some kind of building housing the breeding dogs like a clean puppy mill. There are a lot of puppy mills that have a usda license.

A good pup won't be cheap, but that being said, just bc a pup is expensive doesn't mean it's more healthy or more "rare". Many bybs will say a pup with wrong coloring is rare and charge more. Even parti dogs or parti carriers can be upcharged just for the color, when technically it is a fault (does not fall under AKC guidelines). The "parti" fault is controversial, but supposedly the only fault in partis is the color IF everything else falls under the AKC guideline. But since I don't know enough about it, so I'll stop here. But chocolate, platinum/blonde, blue (all blue, not just blue saddle which is what AKC says) are all faults. Both mine are "platinum". I get asked all the time if they are mixed with maltese bc their coloring is wrong. It gets annoying after awhile. I have to say, they are full yorkies, just not the right color.

| ![]() "I would really hope you buy from someone locally and not the internet, or at least driving distance from you. Check out the breeder. Make sure they have AT LEAST the mom on site. Both mom and dad even better. If they don't grill you with questions, and just try to sell to you right away, they are probably a byb or broker. A good reputable breeder will want their pups in good hands; they won't sell to just anyone with the money. Anyone can have a nice looking website." I bought my puppy on-line. I probably made a mistake by giving my life-history of Abigail before I even gave the breeder a chance to ask a question. Hermione has a completely different disposition than our Abigail had (rip) - and I wonder if the breeder we used is not also either a "mill" or byb. They breed 3 types (that I know of) - Hermione's mom already has another litter (Hermione is 10 months old) - they advertise "teacups" and AKC registered, but when I got papers - Hermione is ACA . . . the list of "bad" traits goes on and on. I am still in touch with the breeder, send her pictures regularly which she uses on her site - but she never would let me come to her house/kennels. She said she was worried about me (or anyone) bringing disease to her her farm. When I met her husband at a truck stop on the highway to pick Hermione up, she had fleas - and then later that day proceeded to throw up all the yucky food they fed her. She has just now learned to eat from a bowl - prefers the food thrown on the ground. idk sometime I would like one of the "old people" on this site who are in the know to pm me and I will share the name of the breeder. I don't want to rui a reputation if they are really a good "company". But - would hesitate recommending them at this point. |

| ![]() Just want to thank everyone for all the help they are able give. It helped me in deciding where I will buy a puppy. It will most definitely not be online, which was not my first choice, because I don't like to buy sight unseen ever. But with people within a 200 mile radius I have found that everyone I have searched and had help with not one was a good reputable breeder with good breeder ethics. I am buying myself and my sister both a little baby, and I definately don't want to get her a baby that is sick or in bad health. SO A BIG THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR HELP ![]() |
