| Yorkie or Morkie? Input requested! I'm new here and have recently purchased (what I was told) was a purebred Yorkie. They said the papers would be arriving in the mail (which, looking back, is sketchy I believe) and they did. However, they are CKC papers that are pre-filled but need to be sent in. I was thinking they meant AKC. I bought Yoshi when he was 8 weeks old for $700. I honestly don't care if he is really a pure Yorkie or not, but don't like being taken advantage of if he is not a purebred. Since I purchased him, I haven't questioned whether or not he is a pure Yorkie, but when I took him to the groomer, she swore he is a Morkie. Below are two links to pictures of him and I would like feedback on whether he is a Yorkie or Morkie (or something else, haha). His temperament is very Yorkie-like and so is his coloring. I know the only way to be positive is a DNA test, but before I get to that point, I would like some input. Thanks! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/picture.phpalbumid=16910&pictureid=135349 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/picture.phpalbumid=16910&pictureid=135348 |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT - and congrats on your adorable baby!!! I looked at your album and he could easily be all yorkie -- I really don't see the "morkie" as standing out.

| Sadly that's what bad breeders do is they take advantage of people. $700 is a pretty cheap price for a yorkie and since the CKC is not a reputable registry and you could register anything as a pure bred whatever you wanted to. DNA test is not 100% and I have heard some pretty ridiculous impossible results from them. Not much you can do just love them. I would get pet insurance that covers genetic issues though because non reputable do not really care about that stuff when there breeding and even if your puppy seems healthy now he could always have a genetic issue pop up.
