| Collapsed trachea/grooming question Hello. I have a 5 yr old yorkie who has a collapsed trachea. He spent 5 days in the ICU in July and hasn't been groomed since because I've been too scared to take him to the groomers. I've tried trimming him myself but it hasn't gone well. Does anyone know if its OK to take him to the groomers if I explain to them about the situation? Is it safe? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Personally, i wouldnt risk going to the groomers. If i absolutely couldnt do it myself, i would use a mobile groomer that comes to the house.

| see if you can find a small mom and pop groomer that will let you sit with him while he is brushed and cut. I bathe and dry my pup at home and then go to the groomer just before she closes and sit next to her and help hold Lola. She is an older one person shop this would not work at a place like Petco.

YT 500 Club Member | I have a puppy that has a very sensative trachea and when he goes to the groomer I tell her not to put the collar around his neck to irritate the trachea. Does your dog get stressed at the groomer? Is that what your afraid of? |
