Hi all, have just been browsing on ebay in the yorkie section and came across an ad about a sick yorkie with heart problems and the insurance won't cover the op that she needs as it was detected during the 1st 14 days of the policy.

What did you buy? or is it that you just donate money? Did you notice that the sellers name is Debra Messing? (I think that's the gal who plays Grace on Will & Grace) It's sad, but I couldn't really figure out if you are to purchase something or just send her money.

You dont buy anything its just a donation towards the cost.
If we all gave a pound she would have the money for the op in no time

This puppy was taken to the emergency vet in the night with breathing difficulties, am waiting to hear how she is.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe ads like that anymore. Too many people come up with stupid stories to get your money.
773 area code is Chicago, Illinois, and when you put it in a reverse lookup they tell you it is a chicago #. Scam, don't send money!!

I have spoken to this women and she can provide proof from the vets that this puppy needs this operation. It is in the uk not usa.

Although i can see your reservations,I would like to think that others will not be so sceptical and help save this puppy. Whats a £1 at the end of the day?
I know how i would feel if it was my yorkie

Hate to sound a kiljoy but I think so to.
I am from the uk and pet insurance here is very good suprised if it did not cover heart opps.Ask her who her insurers are?

English pet insurance doesn't cover any illness which occurs within 1st 14 days.

I went to the auction and checked the current purchases, it shows that only two people have bid and for one item each. Your purchase of 5 doesn't show. Is there another auction, could I be on the wrong one. I copied and pasted the auction number you gave.

Dear Anne, Pippa & Jake

Thank you Anne for placing this posting on here for me.
For anyone that doesnt know, I am the one with the sick Yorkie puppy with the posting on Ebay. I am so sad that I havent had a very good response to my posting - although I do understand why people are skeptical.
In all honesty, we really are desperate as we could not possibly lose this little puppy after having just lost our 10 year old Yorkie in December. She has helped us get over the grieving of losing Gabby and the thought of now losing her to simply too much to bear.
We contacted the breeder that we purchased the puppy from as out Vet said that they should have had insurance on her which we were told she did not in fact have. She did however offer to give us our money back if we gave the dog back. I do not understand that. If she has no insurance, I doubt she will be paying the £2000, so I assume she would just put her down. And how could she think if we were half decent that we would in fact do that?

Please, please help us - I am keeping everyone that does assist with this in the loop as to her progress and will do so after she has had the surgery as well.

I didn't even know you can do a post like that on eBay....does eBay allow for pets to be on there? Do people buy and sell pets on eBay?

Most vets let you do payments....even on major surgery, etc. Granted, I have not read the eBay auction, so I do not know all about what is going on....just the post here. I have known of several people that their vets let them make payments on the care for their animals (and two of those were BIG bills). Just a thought (if you haven't tried that already)....how about loans....friends, family, bank....taking an early withdrawl on your retirement/401/whatever you have?

I live in a one income home and we have had several situations arise (with no savings) and we have found ways to pay for them.....I do NOT what to come across as being cold hearted, but there has got to be a way to get this little baby help...other than waiting for money for strangers.

Yes, PayPal only allows you to take out so much money a month, but there are two options to get that lifted (so definitely check that out).

I am sure you have tried all your options....just wanted to through out some more opinions!

Her problem and why it is so severe for her is because she is only 1.1kgs and they do not like to perform the surgery on dogs that weight less than 3kgs as the heart is too small and the vessels could rupture when tied closed.

Just thought you may like to know.
