| Playing too hard?? My little girl Mignon (5 months old today! ) seems to go into "hyper" mode and then just crashes. She will get her stuffed toy in her mouth and just look at us and whine to let us know she wants to play. She loves to have us play "gonna get you" while she runs wildly around the living room and up on the furniture. She does this about 3-4 times a day for 10 to 15 minutes (or as long as mommy and daddy hold up) and sometimes in the middle of the night . Then she just walks away, uses her "daddy built" ramp to get up on the bed and goes sound asleep. Is this normal?? Is there such a thing as playing to hard? These play times usually come right after she eats. Could this put too much strain on her heart or digestive system? Thanks!! Mignon's Mom |

| I think her behaviour is normal Mine did exactly the same from about 10 weeks until almost 6 months old and its a stage that I really miss now They could play for ages and seemed to go inta a hyper mode where they would throw their toys into the air and beg for us to join in,it was so much fun!! Jess was really hyper and would play with anything, she would just go into her hyper mode and grab what ever she found in her path and make it her toy..then all of a sudden she would crash and sleep for hours! lol. I would make the most of it because soon they dont play as much as you will be wanting a puppy all over again lol. |

| This is exactly how Bruce was, and still would be if it were not for recent injury. I am praying he gets back to this sort of behavior!!! So consider yourself luckily to have a lively, beautiful little pup, and don't worry too much, although I know it is easy to worry!!!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Your puppy is perfectly normal. My girls are the same way and have been since we got them!! They will play hard for 30 minutes and then just crash for a long nap....they just love to play so much that they just completely wear themselves out. I don't think there is such a thing as playing too hard at all....in a couple of years you will look back and miss though crazy days!!!

| Mac & Mellie are still this way. The middle of the night seems like a perfect play time for them, I however have other things I would like to be doing at 1am.... SLEEPING.

| This does sound like perfectly normal puppy behavior. Especially since their is "nap time" after the "hyper mode" all should be fine. Schatzie (and now Ransom too) goes into this mode. It's amazing to see them run so darn fast and dodge all furniture (chair / table legs) in their path. Heck, I can't even somber across the room w/out stubbing a toe!! Lucky for them they get rest afterwards....Id love to have it this good!

| Totally normal! Never had a pup that didn't do this. It's a wonderful thing. I always miss it when they get older and stop playing like that! Yes - and evenings (for mine around 9:00 pm) do seem to be the bewitching hour. Carol Jean |
