| Is this normal? So, our 8 and a half week old puppy is baffling me. I feel like a new mom and worrying about everything lol. Here's the deal... I'm crate training. Started the first night we brought him home. He was going pee every 2 to 3 hrs through the night. Aprox the same during day. The past 2 nights I've set my alarm for every 3 hrs and he doesn't go. Just wants to go back to sleep. My husband leaves for work at 6 am, so we're all up. This is when puppy wakes up and decides it's time to pee... A lot! Same thing during the day. He's going on average every 4 hrs. He's eating and drinking normally. When he goes #1 & 2, there are no issues. Everything is coming out just fine. Is this a cause for concern? Maybe he's just learning to hold it? Last edited by -echo-; 09-03-2014 at 01:26 PM. |

| Puppy pee Congrats on your new baby. I am no expert on pups that young, but it sounds like he is learning to hold it ..... fast! Praying that is the case and you have a good pup that lets you sleep:-) Wishing you much joy with your new pup. |

He's probably rebelling and holding it until he can go on the living room rug - hahaha | |

| Oh dear!! He thinks he has a fancy soft pee pad in your rug. :-(( Can you confine him to a to a tiled area and keep him off the rug until he learns? Remember though he is still very young and will have accidents. I feel for you, this is a difficult period to deal with. |
