| Ear question Hi, I got my little girl 2 nights ago and her ears were standing. They were standing in the first photos I ever saw of her, I am assuming she was around 7 1/2 weeks then but now she is 9 1/2 weeks. Her left ear has flopped lower and lower until tonight it is not standing at all. Should I be taping her ear to stand or is this temporary? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT ! It could be temporary due to stress and teething...but you may want to tape it anyway, just in case.

| Thank you. Is there a forum or post here that describes the best way to tape them? |

| Thank you. Can you help me with something else? I am new on this board and it is a little different than some I am on. I cannot figure out how to turn my emails off? I went in and unchecked everything and saved it 3 times and I am still getting emails from another thread I commented on? |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. To help the ears stand up keep the hair trimmed on the 1/3 of the ear toward the tip. Don't worry if they flop a bit during teething, etc. for about 6 months or so.

| Hi, I have a question. We got a new yorkie on Sunday. Katie is supposed to be from the same litter as Molly. However, the are so different. Molly is about 8 pounds. She is black and brown and her ears are floppy. Katie is about four pounds. She is silver and brown. Her ears stick up. Also, Molly and Katie have different hair type. I don't care if molly and Katie are from litters, but if they are from the same way as they so different?

| Sheldon's flop when he is teething, but have always come back up. First it was his right, then his left, and as of now, they are both up again. I considered taping, but was then told that in many cases, if they stood at one point and you keep the hair trimmed, they will generally come back up. All that said, Sheldon is a pet and his ears being perfect isn't a big deal to me.If I had a show prospect, I would definitely tape, just to be sure. |
