Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | A Protest maybe? Crystal has resumed her interest in trying to lick holes through the walls again. When reprimanded she pulls a funny little round mouth face with all her teeth showing - highly amusing! She is then deposited into the hall (her sin bin) where she carries on excavations on a new site, until got hold of and continuously corrected. She has also has a loose stomach and I wonder if she needs a change of pro-biotic - (emulsion paint) She has bags of energy too, especially after a huge run on the beach, which leaves me exhausted as a support mechanism with the ball launcher. Another development lately is a tendency to ignore commands when we are eating. I really have to be very firm with her - again the comical facial grimace accompanies this pedantic stance. I know we both spoil her, but her attitudes to people etc are unchanged - friendly as ever, though she is becoming increasingly conscious of movements outside the front door and barks madly when the entry handset rings. We've left her alone twice over the weekend (five hours at a time) an unknown for her by the way, perhaps the wall drubbing is a reactive post event corollary? Could she be hyper glycaemic? |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you for the response. Apart from leaving her alone recently while we were at commemoration events this weekend, no. It's been very hot and humid, but there again we have full air conditioning? Her diets unchanged. Perhaps she picked up a virus on the beach. One thing though, she has started paddling in the sea? Something she's never plucked the courage up to do before. Perhaps collecting her sodden tennis ball from the surf (where she deposits it), has given her an O/D of ingested salt? |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Does she get safe chews to gnaw on? Keep her away from the walls. I had to put cardboard and the bed up against the wall where my poodle chewed a hole. Real classy! I would make a loud noise or ring a bell and say no when she does something wrong. Let her know that is not acceptable. Yorkies are smarter than we think. |

| Oh Crystal, Crystal, Crystal....the angst you put your poor mummy and daddy through.... Firstly - I don't know whether you can - but might be best to check that the paint's lead-free? I know that sounds a bit dramatic - but do you remember all the to-do over here years ago? When you take her to the beach - do you carry her there? Just wondering if the pavement/sand is ultra hot, and maybe she goes into the sea to cool her paws down?!!? Also, is she drinking loads/more than usual? She might be taking in too much salt when she guzzles away at the sea...wondering if a few ice-cubes in her normal drinking water might help? My goodness, they're trouble-makers aren't they....?!!? Love from the 3 of us xxx

Good point (water consumption) but not really any significant change in volume downed. Just to be awkward as far as this thread of mine's concerned, she's now stopped wall slurping. I give her the big run about in the cool of the evening so no hot feety's either. The paint's lead free, so she won't fall over just yet. I'll try and get a pic of this funny little facial grimace - it's a hootI Pure frustration at not being allowed (by mother Russia) to either get a lick of Dad's ice cream, before it all disappears, or a fix from wall sucking. What a life with these nutters!

She gets very upset if I put her in the sin bin room and then ex communicate her from conversation for about 15 minutes. I hate doing it, but her mom finds it even more difficult to reprimand her. Actually, she's got a really loving nature and I'm sure its all a lot of fun, when your very young and full of mischief!
