I have this couch that MJ loves to walk all over. Unfortunately, there is about a 2inch crack from it and the wall. For some reason it doesn't sit properly against the wall. I'm terrified he will fall in the crack one day. Any recommendations of things I can use to cover this crack? It's a large V shaped couch against the corner. I tried sheets, but the crack is too large for that.

Maybe build a sort of shelf/panel over it? Might come in handy if you want to store/display stuff ^^

Truthfully, you should probably not allow him up there he could easily fall and break a leg. When they are young puppies their growth plates have not closed and a break could happen very easily. But I shouldn't talk because all 3 of mine love the back of the couch and sleep there all the time. They have fallen and luckily for them they are all bigger and no injures. Also the back cushions on mine are very wide.

I let him on the couch, but not ontop of the cushions where he can fall. He is always in reachable distance from me while on the couch. But I hope to fix this problem so I can relax a bit and not eye him down every second.

That's actually a good idea! Never thought about something hard. I could even paint it to match!

You are right to be nervous!

A few years ago, my fiance at the time and I had a kitten and when we came home from being gone all day at Thanksgiving with the family we couldn't find the kitten... we finally found her wedged behind a bookcase she had fallen behind.

She was not herself and just wanted to lay in bed (not normal for our very hyper kitten). We took her to the vet and found she had dislocated and cracked her hip!

She had surgery where they removed the hip ball and repositioned her hip between two muscles. It was TERRIBLE. Poor kitten looked like frankenstein. She recovered great although she always ran and hopped a little different than before, but I still feel terrible thinking about it.

A jumbo pool noodle. I use the under my furniture to stop Zoe's toys rolling underneath. They are easy to cut to size with a serrated knife. I cover them coordinating decorator fabric.

You could buy a 2.5-3" foam pad from a fabric store, cover it w/ something and wedge it in there so it looks seamless to the eye.

When Gracie was a puppy I pushed the bed against the wall so she could sleep on it at night but we still had at least 3" of space between the bed and the wall. I purchased one of those body pillows to fill in the space. I don't know if that would work with a couch though. If you got it snug enough you could cover the pillow with kind of attractive throw or some material that coordinates with the couch.

I know how they love to lay on the back of furniture. Gracie doesn't want to lay on the back of the couch though. She wants to lay on the back of our rocker recliner

like the cats do. I have had quite a time trying to break her of that one. Much like a cat she will try to get away with it when she thinks I'm not looking.

Ok this is genius!! Bogie drives me insane hiding his ball under furniture and he whines until I find it. Going to buy pool noodles ASAP

I LOVE the pool noodle idea!!! I am going to Dollar Tree to day and stocking up. You have no idea how many squeaky balls I retriever from under the sectional on a weekly basis.

Yeh, great idea. I used one yesterday to fill the space between a heavy office desk and the wall to stop stuff falling down behind. Its bright orange, but who cares? LOL!

Would look ugly but perhaps two or three of those weighted draft or breeze blockers/dodgers that one lays at the bottom of drafty doors would keep him from falling into the space. The weighted nature of them should hold them securely in place.

Hi Jeanie, an even better idea!! The weight would keep it in place and hopefully it would be a less intrusive color!
