| At A Loss Yesterday I came home from work my little girl Lexie (5 years old & 4 pounds) had thrown up food...we went outside she barked and ran around...later she came in a got a drink of water - threw it up - she repeated this several times. She was very weak...just laying in her bed. I gave her a small amount of pedialyte and she was resting. I usually take her upstairs to bed with us but decided I'd sleep downstairs with her...she was moving around in her bed and had her head up...I'd reach over and pet her..I thought it was just a bug or something...about 3am she started screaming and had something I thought was a seizure and she just passed away...does anyone have any idea what may have happened to her? I'm at a loss and missing my baby girl! |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts. Hugs. It is impossible to tell for sure what happened to your precious Lexie without having an autopsy done on her. Just from the symptoms you described it sounds like she could of possibly had a heart attack.

| How devastating. I agree...an autopsy is probably the only way to know what happened. I'm so sorry for your loss.

| After talking to the Vet today - they seem to think she had a stomach blockage - maybe from a piece of a toy, or something she chewed on...he said he came to this because as fast as she would eat/drink she would throw up - so something was blocking it and forcing it back out...he said it may have even been food because she ate quickly. All I know is I've been heartbroken all day! Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers! |
