| Male Yorkies Hello, I am looking to buy a yorkie, at first i wanted a female, but now i'm thinking about getting a male. I was wondering if someone that owns a male could tell me are they more or less aggressive then female. Also do they "lift their leg" in the house alot. Also do males stop "humping" after they are neutered? Crystal P.S any info anyone can give me on male will help |

| My male is not more agressive than my female. Neither of my dogs are agressive. My male has never lifted his leg. He did hump a stuffed animal but stopped since he was neutered. My male tends to be my Husbands baby while the female is mine.

| It varies depending on what state you are in. My male cost $600. The males tend to be cheaper than the females.

| I have a male - but have never had a female so I can't compare - but my male, Rowdy, is the sweetest little guy. He doesn't have an agressive bone in his body. He loves us, other people, and other dogs. He's just the sweetest friendliest dog I have ever seen. He lifts his leg to go potty, but he has not gone in the house for ages (he's 10 1/2 months old). He is not yet neutered and he does not mark in the house at all - he doesn't hump either - I guess we are just lucky.

| I had a female first, then got a male. My male is a little loverbug! Kisses galore. No humping or leg lifting since I got him neutered at 6 months. He's precious except for not sharing toys with his "sister" . LOL It may just be personality, too. My female is a little sweetie, but much more reserved in her "lovins"

| I've got males and females and love them all but the little males are usually the ones that I really bond with... |

| Males can be very hard to potty train (tiggers seven months and we're still working on where to go "doodie", he goes pee fine and even whines at the door but sometimes he just wants to go "doodie" in the house.) Tigger is a little Cuddle bunny and as I type this he is asleep on my lap. He's been a cuddle bunny since day one of us getting him (10 weeks old). as far as humping goes: He still does it, but nearly as offen. Its a dogs natural urge and they'll continue to do it even after neutering. He's fiesty, bossy and the most loving little thing ever. I don't know how I got so lucky. Oh and he's comical. he he he. Tigger also is yet to lift his leg, Ill be so happy when he does though. I'll probably go nuts with happieness. He doesn't mark. |

| I have a male...and he is an absolute LOVEBUG!!!!! He doesn't lift his leg at all since I had him neutered at about 5-1/2 months and although he has humped that is NOT a male trait..it is a dominance trait..there are plenty of female dogs that hump..Maximus has been humped by more then 1 and some that don't at all. He has such a sweet temperment and is friendly with everyone..LOVES LOVES LOVES kids..I paid 1000-1100..can't remember the exact amount but the breeder said many people charge more for the females..

| If you don't get them fixed that is when it's a problem with lifting the leg in the house. Our Gizmo is a stud and marks A LOT! We have a belly band on him about 75% of the time!

It's not really a male vs female thing really. It's personality IMO. I have both males and females and my males are much better at hitting the pad than my girls are. My boys don't really hump my girls do (eachother..lol), my girls also mark so do my boys but all outside not in the house (knocking on wood)! Althought I love my girls, boys tend to get more attached to me and are more cuddley. My girls are nosey and busy-bodies. To be honest, you can't go wrong with either sex as long as it's a YORKIE!! | |

| I have a male yorkie and he is SO SO SO WELL BEHAVED it's almost unreal. He is fixed but even before never once marked in the house. Of course he had accidents when he was a puppy but it wasn't the same as "marking". Now he's fully housebroken and is sweet and gentle all the time! He even lets my toddler cousins play with him when we go over to my aunt's house....and he loves kids! I can't imagine a better yorkie. I've never had a girl, though - but we're gettin gour Sully a sister very soon, we hope!
