| Different Hair Growth in siblings I purchased a yorkie from a breeder 4 weeks ago. She was 7 weeks old at the time. There were 4 puppies-all females. The other 3 puppies have much longer hair than my puppy. Even now at 11 weeks, she does not have nearly the amount of hair that one of her sisters has. Her coat is short where her sister's is long. Have you ever heard of this happening - 4 puppies from the same litter. One with short coat and three with longer hair. |

| Hi welcome to YorkieTalk What is your puppy's name? Can you post a picture of your puppy. It might help if we can see what she looks like.

| Our Abby had much shorter hair than two of her litter. At 4 months I thought for sure she must have gotten some chihuaha mixed in (even tho she had her AKC papers and I saw the mom, dad, and 4 out of 5 pups.) Finally at about 5 months she started to get a little straggly and her hair grew fine and silky. She is very easy to care for with her thin slow growing coat. She does look more like a tiny silky terrier rather than a yorkie. |

Leroy who is 5 months old seems to have less hair than his sister. Her hair looks big and fluffy, while Leroy's lays flat and looks like there's less. I'm pretty sure she has a cotton coat while Leroy's coat is more of a silky coat and slow growing.

| She may have a silk coat which is what you want but slower to grow and they have a cotton coat

| Here is Kyra at 7 weeks and again at 1 year old so you can see it is hard to tell at that age. Her sisters at 7 weeks had a lot more hair than she did.

| Thanks everyone for you comments. This gives me hope! I love her dearly and would not take a millon dollars for her - but I do want her to look like a yorkie. Hopefully in a few more weeks, I will begin to see more growth. There's just such a difference in her coat compared to her sister's! |
