| Coat Colors Most of the yorkies I see that are a year old have a lot of silver in their coat and have the gold head. Brutus still has a black back with a little silver at the roots and a mixture of silver black and gold on his head. Do you think his coat will continue to change? His breeder was even a little surprised when she saw pictures of him that he was the color he was at this age. I believe his sister who will be bred has already changed and his mother is very silver and gold and so are most of the yorkies on his pedigree that I looked up. I love his coloring now but was just wondering how old they are when it stops changing. Thanks!

| rosie is almost a year old and she is still very black on her back, but in the last couple of weeks the roots on her are dark grey so maybe shes changing colour now, also her mum was a blue and dad was grey. i have read on here somewhere that they can change up to 18 months |

| Everything I have read says that they should have their ADULT coat by the time they are 2.. Bailey is 1.5 and his back is still very dark.

| My friend's Yorkie stayed Black & Gold until he was about 5, then only turned more silver as he got older. Loki was 1 in November and he is still Black with a Gold head & legs. I hope it stays like that!!

| Yorkie colors are amazing! Just hop around and look at all the pictures people have posted - You'll see a wide range of Yorkie colors. My pup is four months old and has quickly changed to mostly silver and gold - with a some black still hanging on. I can always tell by looking at the roots what new colors are coming in. Carol Jean |
