| are you supposed to tip your groomer? hello, we have our 1st puppy & just want to make sure we are using the right etiquette!! is it acceptable & expected to tip your pet's groomer? what is the normal % for those tipping. Thanks I tipped his groomer at petsmart last week, but just curious what is the norm, since this is our 1st experience!! |

| I rarely take my two to the groomer but when I do, I don't tip b/c I know she's the owner. If it was an employee, then I tip. I took my two to petsmart just for the nail grinding. It's $11.00 I think so I tip $2.00. But I recently purchased a Dremel so I won't have to take them to petsmart for grindning now! |

| My groomer is a mobile one and owns her own business but I still tip her. She goes a great job, and always cuts Jackson the way I want, and I just really like her. He's also a very nervous dog with strangers so I know he's probably not the easiest. She charges $55 and I always give her a $65 check.

| I go to petsmart or petco and pay 60 and do not tip. I went to a small business groomer who charged me $35 and I tipper her $5. It depends on what I pay. Petsmart and Petco tack on a $10 "bad dog" fee so I do not tip them. It's over priced as it is. |

| We always tip. During the holidays we give her gifts too. Once in a while I will bring muffins just because.

Last time I scheduled for the grooming, she told me to drop them off at 1 pm. When I get there, the guy tells me they were schedule for 2 pm. I ask them to call me at my office number b/c reception for cell is horrible in the building. It was 45 min past the time they were supposed to be ready so I call and she tells me they've been ready for over an hour. Apparently, they called my cell. In short, their service is not very good. I got annoyed the first time with her being pushy so I didn't tip. 2nd time I wasn't happy about customer service so I didn't tip. They do a good job on cutting though.. | |

| We have one groomer around here that doesn't allow tipping! But, we go to a different groomer who just opened his own shop and we tip, usually a lot because he's great. It's $65 for a full groom, which is pretty standard here. |

| I always tip Gizmos groomer because he is a wonderful mobile groomer, and lays goes the extra mile. Plus he's been training Gizmo to be groomed really well since he's still a puppy. Not only does he do the shampoo, dry and trim, but he brushes his teeth, does his nails, pulls the hair from inside his ears, expresses his anal glands and anything else Gizmo might need, topping him off with a cute hair accessory each time :-) he charges $65 and I give him $80. He is so good and just loves Gizmo so he's well worth it. I have Gizmo groomed with a standing appt. every 2 wks, same day and time every time :-) |

| As someone who owned a mobile business some clients tip some dont. I charged according to the job entailed. Someone who only came once a yr and didn't maintain the dogs coat n nails were charged drew as I worked with a dog I needed to go straight slow on as it was scared from not being used to me or grooming. More of a bad owner charge than a bad dog charge. I never expect tips but got more tips than not. My ultra wealthy clients in the movie/ music industry were a different story. |
