I believe I have located the breeder in which I will get my pup someday... she is located in Utah. I can either fly out to Las Vegas, rent car, drive an hour north, pick up puppy, then drive back to Las Vegas and spend night in hotel and then puppy and I fly back home. Or she will ship puppy out to me, where puppy will fly by herself. Which one would you do?

Go out there yourself.

You should see with your own eyes just where and how the puppy was raised. See the conditions the dogs are raised in and the state of health of all the dogs in the breeder's care.

No question- I would fly.
I flew to get my furbaby and all went well.
I would not trust the airlines unless she was accompanied by a human companion.

I'd agree with this if you don't have a lot of knowledge about the breeder. I had my pup shipped without visiting the operation, but only because it was from Deb Sillers (amazingyorkies.com) and she has a sterling reputation, many happy happy customers who give strong endorsements, and a 5 year health guarantee with no fine print. Thus I was extremely confident in the pup I was getting, and lil Cook has lived up everything I would expect from a breeder with as well-regarded as Deb is: Cookie is healthy, energetic, loving, and beautiful.

After having Billi shipped to me, and seeing how skittish it's made her around engines/loud noises, I would fly. Never shipping again, period! Even if the airlines is/are trustworthy, we have no real idea what goes on behind the scenes. Go pick up your baby and then you know they were raised and brought home safely.

We picked Kenzie up from Virginia Beach,Virginia. We have an RV,were on a planned trip and picked her up before going home to TX. I do not and will not get on a plane. No problem with flying just REALLY hate going through security.
