| Yorkie with dyed hair! I saw these photos while on instagram looking through the yorkie tag. I thought it was soo cute. I'm not sure if I feel comfortable doing it to Draco, maybe if I found groomer I really trusted, but still. I feel like if I do that to him I'll take the plunge in put a streak of color in my hair too >.< I've had my hair dyed blue/purple but it was only visible in sunlight. I didn't care for it and felt like it didn't match when it came to wear certain styles. But anyways I think this guy looks cute. I'm used to seeing people dying their poodles some odd colors and style, but rarely a yorkie. The person's instgram, and they also have a blog (but I haven't really checked it out): dudleytherocknrollyorkie What do you think?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh little punk Yorkies! Very cute! I've heard that the dyes they use are super safe and I also like the fact that didn't do the whole body, just a little added punch of color.

| They look cute! Very tastefully done! I have a friend that has boy & girl bichon frise (white lil fluff balls). She gave her lil boy, a red mohawk for homecoming last week, using kool aid. He looked so cute in his red mohawk & gold jersey. And the girl had a cheerleader outfit on with two ponytails on her head. But this week the lil guy's head is pink! Poor lil dude! He now looks like the girl of the pair! I'm told it washes out, but I guess the red takes a little more washing out than some of the other colors.

| I think as long as it is done with dog safe dye and not hurting the dog its ok but a lot of people do not use pet safe dyes.

| those pictures are cute and for fun, but I have been told this also happens in the show ring only their objective is to achieve a perfect golden blond look on the head and paws.

| I saw videos a couple years ago on YouTube where they were dying Yorkies...the blue and the tan...the whole technique for doing it...and they sell the color. Couldn't figure out why, until I heard some dye their show Yorkies for the ring.

| Cute! I think they do that a lot in NYC. The dye is made out of vegetables. |

| That's so odd that people would dye the coats for show dogs, wouldn't that be cheating? It's good to hear that there are pet safe dyes. I've heard of food coloring, but I'd imagine that it'd get all over the furniture whenever the dog was a wet even a little bit. I only played with food coloring a few times as a child for science projects, my mom wasn't a fan lol. But these do make me want to put a green streak in Draco's hair, he's pretty punk for a pup.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | [QUOTE=Draco;4332170]That's so odd that people would dye the coats for show dogs, wouldn't that be cheating? The short answer is yes! We had a long, informative and sometimes contentious thread about this a couple of years ago. But I will use a color enhancer shampoo and sunblock on my Blackies, as I believe dogs do best with lots of outdoor exercise, and the hot sun does fade their black coats. So is that dying? I guess in the strictest definition it is.
