| Breaking top knot Hi there. . . My yorkie has some breakage in her top knot. I do not know what is cosing this. I can not let it lose because her hair is very long and it lays in her face. What can I do to prevent it from breaking? Thanks. . . |

| Do you redo the top-knot daily? What kinds of bands are you using and are you cutting them out? Do you use some sort of conditioning spray when you cut it out? I've been watching all sorts of video's on youtube on how to do this and all the above comments where big issues. If you are combing it out daily, cutting the bands out and not pulling them out, using a light conditioning spray should help any breakage. I'm new at this, so don't take my word for it, anyone else can chime in now!

| Yes they will lose hair if you are not using the correct type of band.

| We use the small cloth crunchy type bands for every day. I find them to be gentler on the hair. Also at night I loosen the top knot and give the scalp some rubbing/ massage so it is loose all night. We also use the previous mention leave in conditioner when we comb it out every morning. Good luck to you!

| Whenever I use a latex band, my girls' hair breaks off & they star getting lots of fly away hairs. The latex bands work so great @ holding hair, but not so good is that they break hair. Esp if they rub or scratch on their head bc the band is pulling on their hair or whatever. I use the children's snag free bands that I can just cut off w/band scissors. I have to re-do their top knot every day & there's minimal breakage. I like the mini scrunchies too, but not so much bc I have to re-do their hair several x's a day.

Like I said, sometimes, it stays in forever. Can't figure it out. Just like, sometimes it points straigt out like a horn and other times it falls to one side. It's the top knot mystery lol

| I use normal children elastic bands. I always cut her bands out and spray it with a fly away conditioning spray from wampum because she has a lot of fly aways in her top knot . After that I take my slicker brunch to untangle it and put a new band in. |
