| New Girls Just wanted to introduce myself and my 4 year old Yorkie I just adopted named Sadie. She has a puppy cut and I want to grow her hair longer and I can't keep a barrette in her hair. Any advice on anything would be appreciated especially Yorkie specific advice. Every question I asked on the internet led me here, so I thought, "why not join?".

| Welcome to YT. They make some adorable clips for their hair that have the little jaws like you use in babies hair only made from metal that work great for growing out topnots.

| Hi, Welcome to YT. You can purchase those little flat, metal clips that are used for babies. Sometimes the french barrettes or the zipper type clips won't hold very short hair. Using the small flat clip that you bend to open and close will get your baby used to having something on top of her head. That's not to say that she won't pull it or rub it out at every opportunity! When the hair is longer, you can use a small yorkie band. The small bands can be purchased all over the place online - including ebay or Amazon. Good luck. |

| Sadie is precious! Welcome to YT! I have boys and I keep them in puppy cuts with eyebrows, no topknots, so I have no advice to give on that. We tried topknots with their first 2-3 grooms and they took turns ripping them off of each other. I gave up! LOL

| Thanks! Thanks so much for all the welcomes and the advice. I finally got the rubber banded bow in her hair and it's been in for 2 days!

| Just wanted to let you know the topnot should be redone daily as its not good to leave them in so long. I always take Kyras out at night and let her head rest a bit before putting it back in.
