| Folow-up clothing question Thanks for all the replies about clothes being functional! I feel better now about taking Mia outside with something to keep her warm. I have a little, red, Minnie-Mouse shirt that says "Heartbreaker" on it that is just SO ADORABLE! And, to my great relief and delight, she doesn't mind wearing it at all! The problem is, when I take it off of her, her coat has all these matted areas that are very close to her skin. It takes quite an effort to get them combed out, and I'm sure it is very uncomfortable for her. Does anyone else have this problem with the clothing? What do you do to keep their hair from getting matted--or if it does get matted, what is the best way to comb it out? |

| If she is still a puppy it will do this. Just brush her well when you first take the shirt off. I use a slicker brush under Kyra's arms for that. I also uses spray on conditioner to dampen them with.

| I agree that puppy hair is more likely to tangle and mat. Cotton coated Yorkies too. Tangling is a downside of clothing. I have to make sure my boys are tangle free before the clothing goes on. Any tangles will become much worse otherwise. Using a great conditioner does help. The cleaner the hair, the better too. My boys tangle more when they are getting close to bath day.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Yep, its much worse with puppy coat and cotton coat Yorkies. I did notice that it got better once my Ruby a cotton coat grew out her adult hair and lost of her puppy undercoat. It also helps to not leave the clothes on too long and groom them on a regular basis. If you need some tips on grooming and getting those tangle out you are more than welcome to look over my page on grooming form my web site: www.dawnsyorkies.weebly.com/groomingtips

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree start with a full brush before and after they where clothes. Also do not brush their coats dry.

| I have tried several times to post pictures. It says that the pictures were successfully uploaded, but when I try to view them, I also get the message "page does not exist"! Very frustrating! |

| I mix a small amount of the Pet Head leave in conditioner with water in a spray bottle and use on mine. Used to use Miracle Coat which I love but our PetSmart quit carrying it .
