Yorkie Talker | Whoa! My BIG boy! Took Bentley to the vet yesterday for his weekly follow up after breaking his leg. He is healing well and surgery has been scheduled to remove the pins from his leg and have him neutered. Oh goodness. The surgery has been scheduled one day before he is 6 months old.... Is that too early to get him fixed? We decided to go ahead and have that done since he has to be put under to remove the pins anyway...? I'm already a nervous wreck about it and it doesn't even happen until Sept 9th! haha Anywho, Bentley had not been weighed since he had surgery on his leg and then he was 4.7 lbs. He got weighed yesterday and he is now 6.3 lbs!! HOLY COW! That seems a little hefty for a 5 1/2 month old! The vet did tell me that he is a tad overweight for his size because he is not able to get out and run around to burn off calories but that extra weight will come off. Anyone else have a baby that weighed this much so young??? Just curious Here is a pic of my little chunk. |

I had Huey neutered within a week of 6 months and he had no problems. I will say he still marks everything he comes across and also humps his raccoon (but only his raccoon, thank goodness). I hope you're not gonna have that problem with Bentley. Unfortunately, I think Huey makes up for "pretty" with "manly". I have never seen a 12-14 week old puppy hike to pee, but this one did. good luck!

| Bentley is a handsome boy. He will take off some weight when he is back to running free. Max gained half a pound when he had a week of restricted activity (and he had too many treats because we felt sorry for him).

Yorkie Talker | :) I don't care how big my lovebug gets as long as he is healthy. He would be honored to be part of the teapot club if/when he reaches 7 lbs. The yorkie I had before Bentley, Max, weighed about 17 lbs. I definitely didn't want a tiny little thing so I am glad that it's looking like he will be a bigger boy |
