| X-Pen My little girl is a huge escape artist!! When I go to work I normally will put her in the bathroom so she has room to play. Well last week I noticed she started chewing on the wood door so now that is ruined. I had to move to putting her in her crate which I feel so guilty because that is a long day to be locked in a crate! I come home the other day and shes running around. She learned how to open the door! There are two doors on her crate.. One on the side and one on the end. So Tuesday I put the crate against the wall and against the couch so the 2 doors are blocked off. I come home and she is passed out on my couch... She ended up slamming her body into the side of the crate until the crate flipped over and she could open the door. Mind you she is only 9 months old. She is definitely an escape artist! I am at a loss of what to do. I was thinking of maybe getting an exercise pen and putting it in my kitchen so I know she will be safe and still has room to play. Does anyone have any feedback on exercise pens? What is a good one to get? I want to make sure she cant climb out of it. Has anyones been able to? Any advice would be great!

| Oh my goodness… she is something! I have heard of pups able to climb out of them. From how you describe your little one, I wouldn't put it past her… you can always try- I would buy one from Petco/ Petsmart and then if it doesn't work out you can return it. Can you get a child gate and put it in the door frame? I have one of those white gates with the wood, I put it in my door frame in my bedroom- so Peanut has full access of our bedroom.

| We used the iris x-pen for Eevee successfully for quite a while until she started climbing out. Then we ordered the white mesh topper that Velcro's to the top. That took her about 15 minutes to get out - the Velcro wasn't much of a deterrent. Since then, I have "sewed" the mesh on top all the way around with some yarn. That did the trick. Still requires periodic "re-sewing" though! |

YT 1000 Club Member | I have a mesh playpen for when I bring my pup home on the 14th...it seems pretty sturdy but it hasn't been properly tested yet. Lol The pen is built just like the ones lovespandp has links to zippered cover and all and is "hooked" to her crate. if you decide to get one of those definitely shop around I got mine at Burlington's for $30 when it retails between $60-$70 elsewhere. Or check out ebay/amazon pricing is way better for the same products you would buy from a pet store plus free shipping! |

| I don't know if an x-pen will do. Jasmin learned to climb out of her x-pen. We had to buy metal shelvings to put on top of the x-pen so she can't escape but then it became too ugly in our kitchen. Also she started chewing on the plastic sides. We would come home to find blood stain on the plastic sides. We decided to buy an X-large black metal crate. We love the black crate. I can't believe we didn't buy this in the first place. She has so much room to move around in yet she is safe when we are not home. It fits nicely into the space in the kitchen and looks much better than the x-pen. The black metal crate has two doors, we locked one of the door up with zip ties.

| Fortunately we were able to use the smaller xpen for our. Although Maggie May would have figured out how to get out eventually, I'm sure. She's my escape artist. There are taller xpens that maybe would work. My neighbor has one that is 48" tall I think.
