| Joels newest accomplishments I just had to share all of Joels hard work Lately I've been working on him eventually walking off leash. I know there's not really a reason to but mostly just for him to learn to stay by me when I need him to. Well he has been doing so good, it started when I put him on his cable when we're in the front yard(not hooked to anything) and he stays in the yard, never goes out from us practicing. What helps is since he was little i've taught him not chase things by praising him when he looked away so other dogs, birds, kids or anything else he doesn't chase. The last few days he's been walking by me with a long leash dragging. He listen/knows all the commands when we're walking, he comes when I call, he stops when I say stop, he will stay while I walk off and then come when I say ok(he has a super strong stay). He knows when I say scoot over to move out of the street and into the grass. All this is not by any roads and I'm in reach of his leash the whole time. On todays walk we were walking down the driveway and he was by my side and I said "Good boy stay by me" and a few seconds later I noticed he wasn't by me so I look back and he's frozen there from when I said the word stay lol. Then on our walk he saw a bird just a few feet away hopping on the ground and he just stopped and stared at me waiting to get praised for looking away So I praised him and we just went on walking. He just matured so much the last couple months and has been listening to everything! |

| Congratulations. That is really a huge accomplishment. It is so easy to get distracted, and he is really doing well.
