YorkieTalk Newbie! | Questions on my yorkie's fur... A year ago i got a Yorkie Mix from a neighbor from the apartments across the street. She said that the puppy was a Yorkie Pom mix.. shes now a year old now i got her when she was 3 months old..as a baby she was like a pine-cone and fit in the palm of my hand..was love at 1st sight..now a year later she still hasn't grown much hair the long part of her hair was what was fuzzy when she was a baby she has a full tail it was never docked and she barely 3 pounds still cute as can be and mama's little baby and she looks more like a chi/ Yorkie mix now then a pom.. i have no papers of her parents or any history i'm considering getting a blood test to see what she is..but i was wondering if it was normal for mixed breeds to not have long fur ??? or perhaps her mixed side that causing her to not have longer fur... i know its easier in the long run to have her look like this but i get alot of questions on how she doesn't really look like a true Yorkie and i'm not sure what to tell any one..her coloring looks really Yorkie but she hasn't really gained much fur.. or maybe she has but i'm not noticing it .. i'll post some pictures of her.... as a baby and at a year old... any advice would be appreciation |

| Your baby is cute What is her name? To me she looks more like a pom than a yorkie, maybe the pom gene stronger than the yorkie gene. I too have a yorkie mix (a morkie) and she looks more like a maltese than a yorkie When they ask you what she is, just tell them she is the love of your life! That's all they need to know

| Oow and it seems that your girl has more of the pom hair than the yorkie hair. Maybe that explains her coat

| She's a cutie! She definitely looks like a pom/yorkie mix to me, but I'm no expert. She sure is adorable!

| Hi welcome, you have a cutie pie there. I too have a yorkie pom but mine looks very different, she heavily favors the yorkie side but with a big tail, there are a bunch of pics of her in albums under my profile. I have seen a bunch of yorkie poms and they are each so different. I have only seen a few look like my Lola Her brother who I last saw at 4 months old was just a total ball of chocolate fur, not one bit of any yorkie markings at all I bet he grew up to look a lot like a pom. I have a face book friend who's yorki pom looks like a fox. Then I just saw a pic of a brother and sister which are supposed to be pom poodles mix, but pretty sure they have that incorrect since one has a lot of yorkie look to her https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater hard to believe they are brother and sister. The link was posted by Zoey Bear who is also a yorkie pom. So as you can see there is a wide variety of looks with mixes. If you really want to know you can get DNA testing done for around $100.00 I know you love and she is cute, but I also know sometimes curiosity is very strong

| She is adorable. Her little fox face looks just like a pom, and her fur looks more pom than yorkie to me, too. What a cute little petite thing!
