YorkieTalk Newbie! | Yorkie Talk Newbie Hi Guys :) I just got my yorkie about 3 days ago. She is only 8 weeks old. The reason i joined is to meet new puppy and be able to get advice. My baby has a cold idk what to do. Is this something normal? Will she get through it? Once again hello and nice to meet all of you and hopefully be able to get to know some of you. |

| Welcome to YT. Since your yorkie is still very very young, I'd take her to the vet asap. There are a number of medical conditions that could very problematic at her young age. Most yorkie puppies are held with mom until 10 - 12 weeks old. I'm not chastizing you in any way but since she is quite small, I'd have a vet examine her. Good luck. Tracey |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and WELCOME ! If you think your baby has a cold, you have to get to the vet ASAP - especially when they are puppies bc puppies can go downhill fast, sadly. She may have kennel cough - was she given that vaccine? Giving the vaccine can actually cause them to get kennel cough. I actually don't believe in giving that particular vaccine, but you have to make that decision on your own learning....which takes time (at least it did me )!. I really would get to the vet as soon as you possibly can bc in puppies, Kennel Cough can turn into pneumonia quite quickly - and that can be life threatening. Is she eating/drinking? Is she lethargic?

It's good that you know she has to eat. Don't feel bad if you have to force her. She has to stay strong to fight that cough, which means she has to eat. Welcome to YT! Hope your pup feels better soon!
