| Weird question? I've been looking at millions of websites about yorkies. People will have listed what pups if any are available, w/or w/o cost of that pup. My question is this, if they have a pup listed for say $850 for say 5 pups and then there's 2 who are listed for say $600.... is there something "wrong" w/that dog? I know there's different factors such as age, health concerns, droopy ears etc... But I just wasn't for sure.. if someone could perhaps iron this out for me I would appreciate it. Thanks =)

| Hi and welcome to YT! Yes there are so many puppies on the web. Please see if you can find a Breeder in your State if you are looking for a puppy. The amount for a furbaby is so out of control. You have breders who sell their litters for high amounts, and you really are getting a pet. Then, their are Breeders who have Show- Breed Yorkies, yes, the price is higher and not everyone shows their babies, but they are all so cute. Not every pup in a litter is a show-breed pup, so the Breeder will sell the furbaby for a lower price. That works when you have a real Breeder, there is a difference. When you can't go and see the litter, you really have no idea what is being shipped to you. Don't get me wrong here, there are Breeders who send out pictures, and that is the one you get. But on the net, you really have no idea who you are sending the money to, and the puppy they send is not the same as the picture they sent you. I have a friend who bought a pup on the net, the pictures matched, only they said she was a girl, and a boy was sent. He really is a sweetheart, but they sent papers & pictures of a female, and that's what she was ready for. So much for all that pink, it's now all blue. We tried to contact the person, only with no responce, so I told her she saved this one. I wish she came to me first!!! I would have questioned the person a lot more. It's so sad, and it's all breeds, not just Yorkies! On the net it's a business. I had a e-mail sent to me about a puppy I was looking for, only I wasn't, and I have no idea how they got my e-mail address. It had to be a scam, they said I sent a request for their puppies. I didn't respond, because I knew I didn't. If you are looking for a Yorkie, we have some wonderful Breeders on this site. Show pups are much higher, Pet Yorkies come with limited AKC papers, they should be lower, but sometimes not. Like I said, their are Breeders, and then their are breeders. If you are looking for a new furbaby, we can't wait to hear more about him/her. And again Welcome!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I know of people that have based their price on how cute the puppy was at time of selling. If their nose was shorter, and had a cuter face, the sold for a lot more. With my last litter, I had one set price except for the smaller one and she was priced slightly higher than the others.

| the net Yeah, I'm completely leary of the net and purchasing an animal the way some of these people post for their animals. I've seen this one gentleman advertising that he's selling some pups outta Brazil, and in some of his ads he puts cheap... I'm like yeah ok, definetly not buying from anyone off the net, it's great for pics, but you're exactly right, you're not sure you're gonna get that animal. I've seen some sights for a couple people in Michigan, but I guess they don't have any litters at the moment?? Not sure... but thanks to you both for some information. If you know of anyone perhaps send me their direction? lol... Thanks

| Females often sell for a little more than males. I usually find the ones selling for more have the to-die-for cute little bodies and faces. I, personally, fell in love with my little (soon to be big) Yorkie because of his very friendly behavior and one of the cutest little faces I have ever seen. Some people just their Yorkies for more regardless of the quality of the dog. Area also has something to do with pricing a puppy. I almost bought a Yorkie from a person who was asking $850. I was ready to make a 200 mile trip to check it out, but unfortunately someone beat me to it. She said she just looked in the newspaper to see what Yorkies were selling for in her area and that's why she was asking $850. She said hers was the first and last litter she will ever have. And, mentioned that her little female and her daughter's male were lovely little Yorkies --with no faults that she was aware of (5 and 6 pounds). Good Luck - Carol Jean |
