| Desperate!!! Hello, I just registered for this site and have a very important question. My mom has a 5 year 3 months female Yorkie who gave birth to three puppies on October 10, 2012. One of the puppies is what is commonly known as Blue born. The other two puppies where normal. Since we didn't know much about this illness, we kind of diagnosed him ourselves based on many thing we read online. Anyway, my mom kept the blue born male puppy and sold the other two, because she did not want to sell him without being clear about his health. He is a completelyt normal dog, just that his hair is grey instead of black of golden black. The problem now is that the female yorkie is apparently pregnant by her son who is only 8 months old. We don't know yet if she is pregnant, but she seems fat and tired all the time, and also, we notice some milk comming out of her teats. My mom was planning to take the male dog to be fixed, but I guess she wasn't fast enough. We'll have to do it anyway. What can we do now? |

| If it were my dogs I would take the female in for a spay and abort the pups and have the male neutered at the same time. This little boy has a defect being born blue plus he is a son to the female.. IMO nothing good could come out of letting this pregnacy continue.

| You need to take her and get her spayed ASAP. She should have been spayed after having a blue born anyway. If the blue born is the son that made her pregnant it is VERY important you spay her plus inbreeding can cause a whole lot of issues on of them being deformities.

YT Young Pup | You need to take her and get her spayed and get him neutered. There could be a whole lot wrong with this.

| I agree with everyone. It's better to get the female and the male spayed immediately! Two factors can make the whole pregnancy and pups end very wrong -The male is a blue born -The male is son of the female

This litter is doomed before it even gets started. Abort this pregnancy and spay your female and neuter your male blue born. You are "in breeding" two defective dogs. | |

| I agree with everyone above. Immediate spay of female and neuter of male. Immediate.

| please consider aborting this pregnancy. it is not fair to the litter to live a life of defects and illness. Puppy mills inbreed and you see how sad and pathetic those dogs look. Please understand I am not saying you're a puppy mill but I do believe you should research breeding more if thats what you want to start getting to. The male is a blue born...those puppies are not going to lead healthy lives please. for the sake of future heartache. It is not fair to sale those puppies to anyone.

| Frankly, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I sold any part of that litter to unsuspecting families. It would be a moral imperative to share this breeding history with any prospective buyer. Please take the sound advice of members here. Save everyone, including your pets, the pain and heartache. Best wishes, Tracey |

| I agree, the female needs an abort/spay ASAP & the male needs to be neutered. Also the people who purchased any pups from the parents NEED to be called & told about the Blue Born & told they NEED to spay/neuter their bups ASAP as they are carriers of this faulty gene. |
