| My Yorkie is a cheater! So I've been training him to sit on command. Well now as soon as he sees the treat, he sits right away (without command) like "Look mommy! I am sitting! now give me my treat!" Lol I have to get him to stand up again and before I get to say "Sit!" He sits again! Lol. It is really cute! And now that he's learning down, he lays down right after he gets the treat for "sit!" So now I have to catch him off guard and tell him to sit without him seeing the treat! Such a cheater!

| Nope, not a cheater. He already anticipates your needs.

| They all "cheat" as soon as they learn how but we don't reward it so after a while they learn cheating doesn't pay. I love to see the little cheaters at work throwing behaviors and hoping to get treats and praise. Shows they are thinking. But soon they learn it is a fail and stop it.

| Tink hits my leg with her front feet (to get my attention), then 'sits' for her treat. If I ignore her, she hits harder, and will jump up till she's eye level with me and give me the stink eye in mid-air, lol.

| Rufus loves to cheat! When he sees me make a move in my desk he thinks he's going to get a treat! When I turn around, he is sitting and looking at me expecting his treat!

| Lol! This reminds me, if I get any closer to the counter where his treat jar is, he comes running and sits! And who can resist those puppy eyes!!

| LOL, they are just so smart. Sometimes too smart for their own good. Haha!! We are teaching Princess Sophie to sit and wait while we put her and Hansel's dinner down on the floor then we give the command "all done" and they go to their food. We have always done this with out dogs so Hansel has been doing it for 9 years. Princess Sophie lays down so I have to pick up her front lets so she is in a sitting position. It's like she's thinking...I know I have to wait, so I'm all in and down as low as I can go. So funny!

YT 2000 Club Member | They are little smarty pants for sure. When I take my girls outside to potty sometimes they don't want to come back in (they love, love, love playing outside) but, the minute I say the magical word "treat" they rush to the back door like the grim reaper of death is hot on their butt!

| Oh, ho! I'd love to see that. What a little mess! She's found a way to get your attention and let you know her true feelings all right.

| One time when Tibbe was sickly I made the mistake of giving him a kibble treat for eating all of his food, making a happy plate! I was thrilled he had eaten all of his meal. Well, you know what's coming. Now he eats for a while and comes to me for his praise and treat. Next thing I know he's back finishing his meal and then back for another treat!!! He's a big time cheater but he doesn't know it. To him he's just getting his rightful due and by the way, I'd better not linger in getting that treat or I get a little reminder bark and growl. He's not overly patient with me where his perceived "rights" are concerned. I'm fairly well-trained.
